Well worth the drive up to walk around and photo ops. Be sure to take a jacket, can be quite chilly and windy.

Definitely worth the drive up and liked the historical story boards in the observation/viewing room. There are coin operated binoculars for use but they only take $2 coins. It was a lovely sunny day around 20 degrees when we left Hobart but was a very chilly minus 6 degrees (due to the wind) at the top of the mountain. So... More

Visited yesterday, on a lovely sunny clear day so we were expecting good views. Exciting drive up to the top and sure enough, the views from the top were amazing. Plenty of parking and no charges. Shame the Trust won't allow a cable-car to be installed, I think this would enhance the experience and reduce the number of vehicles on... More

We were very fortunate to have a clear day to see the excellent views. There were many international visitors also enjoying the experience. Surprised there was no cafe at the site.

Mount Wellington lookout is available after a short drive from Hobart. Unfortunately public transport gets you to the base of the mountain so you have to walk the rest or go on a tour or maybe hitchhike if you are very lucky. The views from the top are spectacular and has toilet facilities, however it can be very cold so... More

We all visited the the lookout at Mt Wellington and it is one of the most beautiful views we have all ever seen. It is fantastic. Surprised by the drop in temperature. Even if it is 20 degrees in Hobart could be 10 degrees on mountain. Don't miss it!

Your visit to Tassie isn't complete without a trip to Mt Wellington. The view is breath taking. It was very cold and breezy during my visit. So, I didn't get to enjoy it as much. Although it was just a short excursion, the trip was worth it!

Booked a small bus from the Hobart Information centre which drove us up to the top of Mt Wellington. The bus driver gave excellent commentary of the surroundings and we had plenty of time to walk & explore on top of the mountain. There was light snow on the ground and the view was amazing.

Beautiful views of city and surroundings. Nice drive up. Wish I'd done it on my bike. Lovely skywalk. Lots of people up there but parking plentiful. Great way to orientate yourself to Hobart.

So cold and windy in the middle of summer but the views are worth it. A steep drive up the mountain and don't get fooled by the warmth of Hobart. Pack those winter woolies just in case!
