If you want to see Hobart I recommend a trip up to Mt Wellington. Its only a half hour trip from the city. Do it on a clear day and take a jumper or wind breaker jacket in case, the weather changes. There is a Red Decker that goes up the mountain. Check their website for day & times. There... More

We were here on a very warm day with clear skies. Take your opportunity to go up there when there are few clouds. Well worth it.

While in Hobart earlier this year, Mt Wellington was one of three things we had to do..it was a 30 min drive up to the top, the panoramic views of Hobart City are breathtaking.

Fabulous views. It's at least 10C colder than Hobart, and was extremely windy when we visited. Plus, you really need a car to get here, but very nice drive with gorgeous views along the way.

Even with smallish kids, there are different options for Mt Wellington. We have an 8, 9 and 10 year old and they all walked up from the springs car park about 1 hr 40 mins! Amazing views and a great family outing! Loved it!

The drive up is one of a kind but so worth it. The views are spectacular. I'm disappointed we weren't there on a clear day but it didn't detract from the experience too much. I'd come back here any day!

We dropped our daughter and her friend off so the could walk to the top, we, being less able drove to the top and were impressed by the facilities there and the boardwalks set out to various view, points to make things accessible.

The drive is narrow and windy but nothing to difficult. Just make sure you stay on the left and watch for cyclists and the odd wider vehicle. The views are great and the toilet must rate as having the second best view of any public toilet I've ever been too. Regardless of the weather at the base you are nearly... More

fantastic view overlooking the harbour and inlands.Bring time to do the walking trails. There are trails up to 3 hours long. If you see the mountain from the harbour, your view will be excellent.
