Unfortunately it was cloudy at the pinnacle but the views on the drive up are beautiful with ample spots to stop safely.

We took a trip up Mt Wellington and the views over Hobart and the surrounding area were absolutely stunning. On the day we went there was snow and ice at the summit so be aware of this and take a jacket.

Great views of the city and surrounding area. We went by car, not sure if there is any other way of getting there.

Well worth a drive to the top to get an amazing view of Hobart and the surrounding area. The viewing platform is informative and photo opportunities are endless.

Mt. Wellingtion is only a short drive from Sandy Bay but what view and unique geography of the place. Huge columns of polished stone like organ pipes abound every where. When we were there, the clouds rolled in and engulfed the whole mountain. Very interesting.

Recently took a couple from Adelaide to see Hobart and surrounds from the top of our awesome mountain - Mt. Wellington. As locals, we didn't realise what a priority it was for this couple to catch the trip up the mountain and see the view on a clear day. They were not disappointed! How great it will be IF a... More

The mountain is literally at the edge of the city, a steep 30 minute drive. Elevation is over 1300 m, or 4200’; we are told that from the top, you can see 1/3 of Tasmania. You truly don’t know which way to look. You can look directly down onto the city and the harbour on the Derwent River. Breathtaking.

A great drive up to the lookout on a clear, sunny morning. We enjoyed the view. It was really cold up there so bring warm clothing. Lots of parking space on the top, and parking spaces are large.
