The drive up to the summit may be windy but it is well worth the view from the top. The amenities at the top are more than can be asked for which include bathrooms and an indoor viewing platform. Good photo op and a good way to take in this great city from above!

On a beautiful Hobart day (no cloud and 12c) we went up in the hire car. Easy enough to get on the right road. Could not believe the scenery and road on way up. Being from Qld we could not believe the "wind chill" factor with the winds making it below zero !!! We ran around the top , went... More

Quick trip up the mountain before heading to the airport and we weren't disappointed. It snowed slightly which I was very happy about as only second time I've been in snow. Road is okay and best to stay with speed limit or below just to be sure. There were a lot of walkers and runners today so had to be... More

Take a jumper or 10. Freezing and choose a day when you can see the steeple from Hobart. This will mean you can see off the top of the mountain. Landscape photos and overall sight seeing. For the adventurous numerous trips and hiking, mountain biking etc.. Coffee van about halfway up but no cafe or food at the top. Overall... More

Mt Wellington (1270m) towers over Hobart and is a popular place for both tourists and the outdoorsy types. Hikers, bikers and photographers love what this mountain has to offer. The view from the top is unbelievable! You can drive all the way to the summit on a sealed narrow road. The glassed in observation area is the perfect place to... More

We drove up Mount Wellington on a warmish and fine day. The views over Hobart at parking stops en route to the summit were fantastic. As we neared the summit we entered cloud and were driving with minimal visibility. At the top we parked and walked out to a viewing platform. We were in thick cloud and couldn't see anything... I was pick up at Hobart Information Centre along Elizabeth Street bus stop at 10:15am promptly. You can get the tickets from the Hobart Information centre or book online. The driver... More

I brought my road bike on this holiday as Mt. Wellington is a must do for most cyclists. I am not a brilliant climber and had a big gear for first, 39X26 which is Ok for me on some of Melbourne's little Hills but too big for my 87kgs and Mt. Wellington's 9 and 10% ramps. Bring a compact crank... More

We went there with local coach, very windy and chilling and you can stand up in one place for longer, but views are amazing, you can see the whole Hobart town, very interesting things is stone, liked someone made it, but it's natural. We can stay only for few minutes, should be up in summer day,

I read a few reviews before making a decision to go and it was definitely worth the trip. The weather was mild, single digits but definitely not cold as there was almost no wind up there the morning we went. We left our jackets in the car. Not too many other groups were up there either. Heaps of parking at... More
