The view from the top is wonderful, but be sure to rug up as it gets quite cold up there, especially in winter. Also, if they've had snow sometimes to road to the top will get closed so check conditions before heading up there.

What an expereince! A few patches of sparkling clean white snow spattered on the black rocky side of this mountain promise a chilly visit to the lookout at the end of this winding and steep road. I really thought the car doors were locked! The wind was something else. We joined hands and bent into the icy blast, breath puffing... More

The windy drive to the top of Mt Wellington is well worth the views on a clear day. It was very clear and crisp the day we visited. Very windy and cold (July). There is a great glass viewing area if you don't have a jacket, easy to get around on the boardwalks.

Mount Wellington is a great place to visit in the winter seasons... but take a JACKET and MITTENS. It is freezing! Up on Mount Wellington there is a great viewing area which views over all over Hobart and surrounds. This review was written by an 11 year old.

We drove up to Mt. Wellington on a cool day. It was particularly cold on the mountain and windy! Amazing views and well worth the drive. Bonus was we had snow on the day which made it a great place to spend an hour or so.

Middle of winter, snow on the ground, sun was shining. Picture prefect. Take a extra coat and maybe some gloves.

We tried to go up Mt Wellington twice. On the first day, the road up was closed due to bad weather. The 2nd time, we were able to drive all the way up. But due to the clouds, were not really able to get clearer views of Hobart. So do plan your trip on days with good weather forecast. And... More

The view from Mt Wellington really was spectacular, though cold as we took a tour on the back of Hobart's Trikemania. Viewing Hobart from this height provides a great perspective of the landscape. We visited in July 2016. There was a little snow here and there. Be well dressed for the cold though.

This is an essential part of Hobart. The drive is incredible, but you can also ride or run up the mountain. There is ample room and considerate drivers to make it an easy ride or run.
