Cyclist in Hobart have great choice when it comes to riding. One of the ultimate climbs is the MT Wellington Pinnacle. Its about a 1400m elevation over 20 km from the city. The grade is constant with some steeper sections near the pinnacle. The road condition is good when the weather is dry but can be prone to ice and... More

My second visit. The last time there was snow and it was freexing, this time the sun was out and much better. The temperature up here is about 10 degrees Celsius colder at the top than in Hobart. I

After a winding 12 km drive you enjoy amazing views. Plenty of vantage points and the boulders are great to climb on.

There is a viewing station which is enclosed and this provides a good break from the wind but do venture down the boardwalks as well as you will see things from a different... More

Always love visiting our mountain. Esp. over Nov - Jan when all the wild flowers are out. It is so unpredictable it can be freezing and massively windy or calm and warm, that's its mystique

Unfortunately the day we visited it was foggy and wet, so we got tantalising glimpses of Hobart in between clouds, but nothing from the top. Interesting drive up however and things to see including a waterfall and various plants. Plenty of walking opportunities as well

We took the Middle Track, Pinnacle Track via Zig Zag up. The route is a pretty constant uphill walk so don't expect any respite but if you pick a pace and stick to it you'll be up before you know it. It took us a little over 2 hours but allow 3 if you are a gentler walker or have... More

If you visit Hobart, this is a "must do". The drive up is beautiful but the views from the summit are just spectacular. On the way up (or down), there's a great little cafe called Lost Freight. There's also public toilets at the cafe. The coffee is really good and they serve snacks. At the summit there's plenty of parking... More
