Site of the first white settlement in Tasmania from 1803-4. Previously the land had belonged to the Moomairremener people, who were cast out in a most savage and brutal manner.

It's an interesting place to see. Lovely to be there when the children were inside enjoying school. We gained permission and were happily allowed to have our picnic lunch among the trees. Everyone was very friendly.
