This would be a great place to walk out of the tourist season. I encountered many tourists doing the track with their heads down staring at their mobiles. Still it was a very different place to walk and though I didnt have time to do...More

This national park is just 1.5 hours drive away from Hobart city centre (Past Huonville & Geeveston). Clear signages + well-kept board walks available at the first part of the walk. The climb up to Hartz Peak require some physical strength and balance. Bring warm...More

Have done all the walks here, but I just love coming back. The wildflowers, views and changeable weather conditions makes this place. Once we got up the pass instead of turning left to climb the peak we rock scrambled right until we found a great...More

Hartz Mountains National Park is like another world the trees are gigantic (massive trunks). The scenery is breath taking, like no where else on earth. Do miss out on a visit to Hartz Mountains when visiting this area of Tasmania.

We found this place in a book called "60 great walk in Tasmania". It was amazing, so so beautiful and wild. I am sorry that Tasmania Tourism Industry does not represent and promote such a astonishing area in a proper way. The scenes from the...More

This is a magnificent place for a hike. It starts along an easy boardwalk and even if you opt not to climb the mountain, stopping at the tarns is worthwhile. They are beautiful and unspoilt. The hike up the mountain needs a certain level of...More
