What a great little place to visit. The eccentric nature of it all is fantastic, and all for a donation. You do have to have a chat with the owner, quite a character, and with a sad story. Don't expect there to be any permits for the buildings, thus the reason for no entry fee and only a donation, if you want to.

Why is this eccentric eclectic castle not advertised more.
We found this completely by accident and quickly spun up the drive to see what it was. This was a highlight of our trip. So much to explore and all for donation.
The adults in our group found their inner child.
We would have loved to seen it lighten up but still so much to look at during the day.
Much is old wares, but set out very cool.
This is a must see !

My husband and I were on KI for a week. On our second to last night we went for a drive and came across this place by chance! I have no idea why this place isn't advertised or sign posted. It is amazing! Such a unique experience. George was amazing and turned the lights on for us.

It was magical! The gardens are lovely. All this is made from recycled goods and you can go up the battlements etc. Amazing for all ages. We are so glad we went as it got dark!

Beautiful experience and a memory I will treasure forever!!!

Words cannot adequately describe this experience. Our family - Senior Mr sixties, Mrs fifties, then Mrs twenties and Master 7 and Miss 5 and two friends - will never forget our birthday picnic tea with George and generous personal tour of turrets, garden tunnels, sound activated witches, up ladders, around hedges, mechanical automata boats, trains, rainbows and ships gradually back lit and twinkling to a dazzlingly brilliant fantasy play light as the sun went down.
Travelling along deserted unpaved wilderness road the castle emerged like something out of Sleeping Beauty.
We are locals and had heard about the lights and castle but nothing prepared us for this visual treat!
Picking mulberries, washing the stains out with green berries and hearing the multitude of stories of how George created this amazing larger than life art and play space from found and recycled objects was mesmerising for all of us.
Watched by a local mob of Roos until the sun had totally sunk into the distant sea we begrudgingly packed up, with a catch cry of 'see-you-later' rather than 'goodbye'. Thank you we will visit again.

Few days on Kangaroo Island, but we have to visit this place after all we heard about. George and his castle are something completely different from any other experience we lived. It was just as if we felt younger, almost child, again!

Every now and then in a rural corner of Australia you run across something fantastic. I was driving by when I saw George's Castle. It's creative, imaginative, and fun - for kids of all ages. It was morning when I stopped so I didn't think it was appropriate to phone for the lights, but those would add another layer.

We found this quite hard to locate as it says it’s located near Emu bay but is quite the drive from there. No signage. Very run down, tools left laying around everywhere. No one was to be seen. Saw it all in no more than 10 minutes.

We came across this by accident while we were driving around. Absolutely amazing man if not a little eccentric. He had so much joy on his face showing us around. We were one of the lucky few that got to go behind the scenes. Enjoyed the experience

Saw George's lights during the day and went back at night. What a lovely man to do all this as a hobby. Absolutely awesome. He's been doing this for 15 yrs, the things he has used to create his masterpieces, brilliant. Thank you George, loved every second we were there on 7th February 2018. 52000 lights now.

Stopped by as part of our night tour. George takes contributions to help offset the electricity costs. Hard to conceive of a man his age setting up all these lights. Looks like his lifetime collection is on display. Hard to describe but worth a stop by for an hour of exploration.
