A great place to learn about opal mining and buy some beautiful jewelery

Lovey friendly people that were great to learn alot about opals from. Great with the kids too. I loved that the jewellery you were buying was mined and created by the one family

Stella (owner) welcomed us as if we were family. No pressure to buy. Little give aways and lessons on how opals are mined and then finished into jewellery. A lovely visit.

Upon arrival in this little shop our 3 littlies were showered with attention and free souvenirs. The staff were so friendly. We went back later to buy our modest souvenirs from here. Lovely. Thanks

As with other reviewers, we felt we walked into a shop and walked out of a family home. Stella and Tony are so friendly and happy to talk about the whole opal process, the town's history, and their time from living in a bus in the opal field to the shop today. No pressure, we were shown jewelry art from... More

Very reasonably priced jewellry, with the most informative helpful owners. Absolutely no pressure to buy ,offering us free lucky stones. I ended up buying a circle pendent necklace with opal chips. Will visit again when we return in June.

Was advised to visit Opalious by the Motel manager. We went into the shop expecting a typical jewellers. Opalious is not a typical jewellers! They are a family owned business who have sourced the opals themselves. They came to Coober Pedy in the 1970's for a 3 month visit and are still there! They are extremely helpful and informative.
