I used the train system to visit Adelaide showgrounds and had a great day out. Tickets can be booked at main office in Nth Terrace station and all day ticket cost $10.40

Hi, Size of luggage doesn't seem to be an issue. I understand that we could have chosen to have our luggage with us.

Ghan Train Customer Service Non Existent We are a retired couple and travelled Gold Service on the Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin stopping off 7 days in Alice in April 2015. The cabins were quite small and en suite extremely small and had to pull shower curtain around the toilet to shower. I'm a little unclear on exactly where you left your bag in Alice Springs. You left it at the station there, or at your accommodation? If it was left at your accommodation unrelated to the GSR I could kind of see why they didn't want to get involved, since GSR isn't really in the business of being a freight forwarding service.
