For a major square it has no atmosphere to it at all and doesn’t seem to serve any purpose.

Should have restaurant/cafes street performers etc to draw crowds and create a more warmer atmosphere for people to want to go to the area.

Poorly planned with no direction to it, very disappointing, give it a miss.

Centre of Adelaide you can cat the tram to and from this place and it’s free.
Has some statues and a fountain at the northern end has skate board park.
If you are going to China town or central markets you get off at this stop.

One of the capitals in Australia that boasts an open space right in the centre of the city. The wide roads and open spaces give this city lungs - they allow the air to circulate - you do not feel fenced in. While the square itself is often undergoing maintenance each time I go past it -this may be an indications of how much it is used - which is for more than just a tram stop.

Flinders university has a branch here. Just a wide open space with a tall Christmas tree at one end.

Beautiful and located near Victoria Market.
We had a great time walking along the water fountains in the day. The whole scenery was even more spectacular in the evening when different coloured lights shone on the waterfalls.
There was much activity there in the day with solar car enthusiast gathering.

A great place to chill in the city centre. Take a break in nice surrounds before resuming your trip through the CBD. The free trams stop here so its a great place to have a rest. Plenty of park benches and shade. Lots a school groups on day excursions use the area. Popular with picnickers also.

Not sure if I love it or hate it really. The area is used for a wide variety of events throughout the year, including the Tour Down Under and The Adelaide Fringe, so will often be fenced around pop-up buildings and tents. Not always pleasing on the eye. Close to the brilliant Adelaide Central Market precinct and Hilton Hotel. Has had a recent facelift, but I'm thinking some more work still needs to be done to keep the area looking beautiful.

Lovely park with a lot of history and statues depicting early explorers and people of note and plenty of seating to relax but it was somewhat spoilt by a few who hung around in a group near the rest rooms.
