We try to do New Year's Eve in a different city each year, so this year (or technically last year) we chose Adelaide. We attended the Gala dinner which, although not cheap, is a great night well worth attending. Being interstate visitors we really didn't know what to expect, especially when we discovered that we were just placed on a random table with 8 complete strangers. Well let me tell you we were not disappointed. The group of people we sat with welcomed us with open arms and they certainly made our night. From the time we arrived, we were served the most amazing food and local wines and it was great to get the opportunity to watch the fireworks from the floor to ceiling windows that look out over the river front. The band played fabulous music and certainly had everyone up dancing and socialising which was great to experience. The MC, Wayne Phillips, was very entertaining and kept the night on track. There was a photo booth with props so, as you can imagine, as the night wore on there would have been some very entertaining photos taken. We found the whole experience to be absolutely wonderful and would highly recommend spending the money to attend in the future. If we're ever in Adelaide again at this time of year, we'll definitely be back.

A remarkable architecture but it is so long winded with very less directions available. It has multiple entries but to know which one suits one better is the riddle.

I attended an event late last week and found the attitudes of some staff totally unacceptable.
The Adelaide Convention Centre is a huge place and it's easy to get lost!
I found myself getting lost trying to get back to the car park. With no signage pointing to the car park ( or should I now say car parks!) I found the reception and could see three staff talking at the desk so I went to ask for directions.
I had to walk straight past them, the language and use of swear words was beyond belief! Also they were so engrossed in their own conversation I don't think they noticed me.
I then walked back around to see a lady approaching me. I asked for directions to the car park and was told to show my ticket.?? I could hardly understand the lady, she was abrupt and had very poor English.
Finally I understood, there were two car parks! No signage to either one!!??
Feeling like I had been told off for getting lost I made my way to the correct car park!
A really bad experience, management should consider employing professional staff with good interpersonal skills.

Needs better signage, especially if one of the entrances is blocked off by a function. Difficult to negotiate if disabled- again, more signs would help.

Had an Awards night at the Convention Centre. Great location, easy access, food and wine were superb, and all within walking distance of the cities best hotels. Also has great views of the River and AO...hard to fault!

Attended 3 day conference. Excellent service with many staff available to ask for directions. Large centre with often multiple conferences happening at the same time. Food was delicious, spaces were large and everything flowed smoothly.

From the beginning, let me say the venue is an outstanding place as long as you don’t eat. If the ACC was a local venue, they would not survive in any competitive market. For 700 people the food was small in portion, of a low standard and lacked any sparkle. Dairy free dessert equaled chopped fruit!! Give me a break, no one skilled enough to produce one that was. Really poor effort ACC. You even served chilled wine without an ice bucket and then rolled your eyes when one was requested!!

The ACC is a centrally located convention centre of international standard and it's a nice change from the frenetic activity surrounding Sydney's way over priced convention centre. It's a $20 cab ride from the airport and serviced by a full range of hotels that suit all budgets. Navigation is very straightforward, service and support is excellent and staff are well trained and professional. I live in Sydney but would gladly attend conferences here or in Jeff's Shed (Melbourne) in preference to the Sydney convention centre. Congratulations oin a great venue
