The Best of South Australia

Sturt Street Cellars is renowned for it’s specialised offering of SA wines. I came in search of Separavi, an obscure varietal from Central Europe currently cultivated in boutique SA wineries. Bingo. They had it.
The Cellars are part of the convivial King’s Head hotel, a charming old colonial era pub with high ceilings and spacious bars. On a hot Adelaide afternoon it was a perfect place for an old bloke to enjoy a cool drink and browse the specialised wine collection

Drink in or take away

At Sturt Street Cellars you can either buy your bottle of wine to take home or you can stay and buy the bottle, pay a corkage fee, and sample the wine you have just bought. I recently met up with a group of friends at Sturt Street Cellars and it was fun seeing all of the bottle on display and then choosing the bottle of wine you wanted to drink.

Excellent way to try local craft beer
Nov 2016 • Couples
The excellent Sturt Street Cellars has set up as part of the Kings Pub just south of the centre of Adelaide CBD. Being a craft beer fan, this place is a mini utopia for South Australian beers. I wasn't expecting the small bar to the back though, which was a real bonus. We spent a half hour or so chatting to the barman and trying a couple of the beers on tap, and left with a mixed six pack.
In addition to beer, the bottle shop has a large selection of wine and spirits, as well as small supply of condiments etc.
If you are a craft beer fan, go, and go soon!
