The Cathedral is named in honor of Francis Xavier, who was a companion of Ignatius Loyola and founding member of the infamous Jesuit order. The Catholic Church owes Francis Xavier a huge number of new comers to Korea, India, South-East Asia. It was his missionary...More

It is the oldest cathedral in Australia. As it stands in the centre of Adelaide, we could see it clearly from Victoria Square.

If you walk by this monument take the time to go inside. It's as impressive as the exterior. The building was begun in 1856 but apparently was worked on over a big spread of time and not completed until the mid 1990's. There are remarkable...More

Enjoyed mass. Interior is beautiful with many stained glass windows. Exterior is very striking against the sky.

Very dark interior and not a lot to see. New organ but unable to arrange to play it. Maybe better at a service.

I have been coming here for years. I like to just sit and take it all in. A special place for me. Beautiful Gothic architecture and lead light windows. Pictures and statues are awesome.
