Wow this one was beautiful. Clear waters, pure white sand. We loved it, like a paradise. Stayed a coule of hours snorkelling with our young teens. Only downside was it was in Jan & the place is crawling with busloads of European backpacker type so...More

The drive from the resorts is not a challenging drive. The tracks are well used and while bumpy is not difficult. I drove from Kingfisher Bay and it was about 45 minutes. There is a large parking area at the Lake but this does fill...More

Absolutely breathtaking. Pure white sand leading into a freshwater lake. A turquoise hue before a deep blue is just stunning. Even on a rainy day it was well worth the trip. Went twice to the lake on a 4 day trip.

Easy drive from Kingfisher Resort for Christmas Lunch. Family enjoyed a beautiful and relaxing swim before enjoying lunch in the cage. Kids thought it was great for us to be fenced off instead of the animals. Saw dingos and a huge goanna.

Back again and still so special. Crowded beyond belief in the busy period between Christmas and New Year. Definitely recommend going early or late in the day if visiting at a busy time as some vehicles could simply not get a parking spot so they...More

Sorry for late reply! The tracks are great fun but quite challenging in places. Personally I was only comfortable on the firmer sections, but other people coped fine with soft shifting sand. We went as a tag along tour so... More

I am afraid there is only 2 companies that do trips around the island and they begin on the mainland. Depends on where you are staying on the island you can always walk if you have time. Check a map and see if its possible... More

Tour to Fraser and Moreton from Brisbane (1 Replies)
Hi, I just wanted to let people know about my experience of going to Fraser and Moreton Island from Brisbane. Firstly both these Islands are amazingly beautiful places to go and a must see for anyone traveling through the South East Queensland. I traveled with Sunrover Tours and had a great time on both the trips I traveled with them on (2 day camping Fraser, 2 Day Camping Moreton). Fraser Island being world heritage listed was definitely a highlight. Lake Mckenzie was beautiful and...More

Help needed for Fraser Island Tour from Brisbane (5 Replies)
Hello, I need some advice as i would like to go on a 2 day tour of fraser island leaving from Brisbane at the beginning of April. Ideally i would like to leave on a wednesday. I've been looking at 2 tour companies Sunset and Sunrovers, but it looks like Sunset don't do Lake Mckenzie which i've been told is a must see, is that the case? Are there any other tour companies that you'd recommend? Thanks Michelle

Hi All, I'm travelling to East Coast Australia in September and have 12 days to get from Cairns to Brisbane (hopefully also fitting in Byron Bay) before flying to Sydney and onto Melbourne. Firstly, what would be the best mode of transport given that I'm travelling with one other person? I'm leaning towards greyhound (as opposed to hiring a car) as we may not necessarily use the car everyday and could travel overnight? Secondly, I would appreciate any advice as to how to plan the...More

When in September. The last 2 weeks are school holidays and this will affect bookings etc. Scrap Yamba to start, it's past Byron. Noosa is part of sunshine coast, surfers is part of Gold Coat IMHO in 12 days you wont be doing sydney or melbourne if you choose to do land transport for the QLD leg.
