The museum here is free to enter but not always open. The volunteers that offer up loads of information are very friendly and informative! Really worth a visit if you're interested in war history and also the history of Townsville's involvement in the wars.
We visited Jezzine Barracks as a family with grandchildren. The walk from Rosie bay along the wooden boardwalk is excellent then on to the viewing area which has fabulous views all the way over Cleveland Bay to Magnetic Island and beyond is worth the visit....More

A beautiful headland at end of The Strand looking out to the Barrier Reef & Magnetic Island. A great boardwalk around the waterside. Lovely parkland at opposite side to The Strand where my son & daughter-in-law got married.
