More
The three-kilometer strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia's iconic beach, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up 'paradise' to millions. Throughout the year, our beach welcomes swimmers, joggers, surfers and strollers from around the Gold Coast, around Australia and around the World. There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one. Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment.

Surfers beach is endless so there is plenty of room and a lot of swimming between the flag areas. The sand is soft, the water clear and awesome.

Sand was like powder! Kids enjoyed even though it was technically winter (July) and the water was cold. Reminded us of Waikiki beach (Hawaii).

Head further south for better accommodation as surfers is overrated full of junk shops and overrated dining and theme parks.

The main beach of surfers is very clean and well worth a visit especially if from overseas. Lots of markets and action around the beach so plenty to keep the family entertained

Gorgeous winters day at Surfers Paradise. Lots of brave tourists taking a dip. Too cold for us Queenslanders though.

Quite a rather large but surprisingly clean beach with a lot of lifeguards on patrol throughout the day.

Our experience is that you just leave your stuffit in a bag, take a swim. Nerver ever lost anything. The Australians are very honest and nerver heard about any steelings.
