Top Magic Millions Day

Thank goodness we were in the members bar area with some air conditioning. For what must be the busiest day on the calendar the club did very well. Be good if they could post... read more

Have been going to the races at the coast for a good part of 40 years once to four times a year , this trip up we went twice the first time we booked a table in the Skyline restaurant absolutely tremendous good food, good service, monitors on all tables, bookmakers who want to take a bet, ample tote operators, it... If horses are your thing, then this would be it. Great excuse to dress up, have a beer and a gamble. Some people love it, some hate it. But we were in the Marque and there was some great food.

The following is my email to GCTC sent on the 16th of Jan 17. As of today, 24th Jan, I have had no response. My wife and I flew to the Gold Coast from Melbourne for our first ever visit to the Magic Millions Raceday last Saturday. After arriving early at 9.30am and paying the $35 each entry fees we... Went here for the biggest race day of the year apart from Melbourne cup and almost melted away. I won't be going back unless I'm a member or in a corporate box. Not enough fans, seats or shade for general admission. We even had to grab our own chair from under some stairs out the back before we passed out.... More

Overcrowded, nowhere to sit, no shade, terrible food, ran out of water in the first hour, terrible access to the site, ran out of champagne in the first couple of hours, 40 degree heat. If you're going to bother getting dressed up & doing a lovely day at the races this is not the place to do it. Needs a... More

Unless you happened to be a big fish in a little pond at the Magic Millions Carnival and spent the day in a big air conditioned tent drinking champagne out of golden goblets, then sadly, you, like me, had to endure the suffocating deafening baking swilling madness of the concrete jungle bear pit of the betting ring and members bar. Granted,... More

Have been coming for years and went to the new venue for Derby Day last year and it was terrible. Food non-existant, champagne had to line up with only 1 line. TAB next to toilet with no screens or race book. Music inside only where it was dark with concrete flooring. No music outstide by the track. Will not be... More

Have come here as an racehorse owner now for the last three years and seriously this place just gets worse every year. Stinking hot weather more than usual didn't help, but I guess the celebrity marquees didn't notice because I can guarantee that they were the only ones that had air-conditioning. Our horse was victorious thankfully and we looked forward... More

Nice racetrack, came here for magic millions - was a hot day they would do with more shade trackside but had plenty of shady spots out back. Nice backdrop on the racecourse and plenty of bars and toilets. Lots of member and VIP areas so would consider getting those tickets next time as there is far better facilities

Thank goodness we were in the members bar area with some air conditioning. For what must be the busiest day on the calendar the club did very well. Be good if they could post better signage at the entrance We along with 90+ other punters who all had tickets for the Members bar area were all in the wrong queue.... More
