We went in the hot air balloon and oh my gosh it is a must do experience! I was quite scared as I am afraid of heights but the staff were super lovely and reassuring. The communication was second to none- there are updates that the bus driver is leaving and where he is on the road so you're never left in the dark. Literally from start to finish the experience couldn't have been better. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Extra shout out to Dawal, Matt and Rob who were all fantastic! We also got photos sent to us within a couple of hours which were included in the cost. A brilliant bonus.

An exciting memorable full Hot Air Balloon experience

We loved whole package! The ride, walk inside the balloon, wrapping it up and riding on the trailer! Kelly our bus driver woke us up with jokes and an informative talk; Matt was an invaluable crew member and Jay, a top pilot, who is a Hot Air Balloon Whisperer. He instinctively knows where the winds are and where to go!

We were lucky to have beautiful weather for this trip which had to have been postponed before due to various reasons .
The team (Rob , Dhawal & Kevin) were amazing . They worked so well together with good humour throughout, making this trip even more special. Well done guys.

We had a fabulous trip in the air with Dhawal and led on he ground by Richard and his crew. From start to finish all team members were full of energy, enthusiasm and humour, and very eager to please and help take photos or answer our questions. I can't fault them in any way. Lots of nice touches on the way, such as giving us a drink before take off and sharing their professional photos from the trip with us after. Thank you all for making it such a memorable day!

I surprised my partner with this experience as a gift for Christmas, i have walked away nothing but disappointed with my entire experience.
The staff are very friendly, and they did a lot to keep us entertained, however when i purchased the tickets i had read that it would be a ride with the sunrise, with 1 hour flight.
We missed the sunrise, as we stood and waited around for a few hours before even getting onto the hot air balloon ( which we had to help set up ) i dont understand why we had to meet at 4am that morning, to get on the balloon after 6.
The flight was peaceful but a little boring, to then land in a paddock full of cow manure.
We were then expected by the staff to help pack up - im sorry i did not want to spend over $500, to do all the hard work myself. IF it requires more men to pack and unpack the balloon - hire more staff.
Do not manipulate your customers into doing so, when some of us did not want to help ( because i did not want to get cow manure all over my shoes ) we were death stared.
Not to mention it stunk and we had to roll around for half an hour with this hot air balloon.
The bus ride was long, and extremely cold, and the champagne breakfast is just some cold food from a buffet at a hotel, and a glass of champagne.
Which i did not get one.

I have so far, recommended all my friends and family to never do this, and if they do to not go through with this company.

Dear Sonya . Although our company name is generic being "Hot Air Balloon Gold Coast", there are two other balloon companies on the Gold Coast and we firmly believe you did NOT fly with us but one of them, Reason being we do not go to a "hotel" with a cold buffet for breakfast. We pride ourselves in a beautiful breakfast at the O'Reillys Vineyard with a huge Hot and Cold spread, in a historic homestead, set amongst the vines and the winery, all guests are greeted at the door with a glass of Sparkling Wine made in the vineyard by the Vineyard staff at the door on arrival. They never miss out. You most certainly would have remembered that positivly with US, Could we ask you to check your travel records in the spirit of fairness to our company, and if it was not indeed us, remove this review. The other companies to consider are branded under three trading names 1) Balloon Aloft/Scenic Hot Air Ballooning /Down Under Balloons and 2) Go Ballooning. Maybe then you can direct this reiew at the company intended for instead of us .

Felt cheated!!!
I took this activity for my big family hoping to get three major benefits. 1. to see the sunrise as mentioned in their website, 2. to see d beautiful scenery from high above n 3. To get a free photo. We did not get any of it...we took d balloon way past d sunrise, d place where we did ballooning was nothing to shout about as it was just a flat land with dried grass n we actually need to pay at their website to get a photo which we need to print ourselves...I spent a lot for this experience n it was total waste of money...I regret not doing it at other places like Brisbane or Sydney which has more beautiful sceneries. Furthermore to save cost, it was overcrowded in d basket n my children n I can hardly move to see anythg...I complained to the crew before d take off but nothing was done....I had elderly ppl with us n when they didn't help out to put back d balloon...d crews actually compelled them to do so....truly felt cheated...skip this experience in Gold Coast...

Very sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience with as as you should have Shrisha and my apologies if it wasnt everything you had expected. As you can see from our other reviews here on TA generally people love the Scenery, really enjoy the fun of packing up the balloon and its unusual to find that people feel crowded - actually the space is regulated by the manufacturer and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and clients normally dont find this to be a problem. Regarding the price, Queensland has the best prices in Australia ($250 all inclusive of flight, return transfers and vineyard champagne breakfast) ) due to our stable year around weather and as flying in Sydney or Melbourne can cost up to $380 especially on a weekend day but our prices stay the same everyday of the week again most people when they compare find us to be fantastic Value. However Im again sorry that you didnt have the very best experience which we would wish for everyone we fly, and I take your comments firmly on board. Kind Regards Andrew Steel Owner

Would not recommend this ballooning location

Disappointing, silly me expected to go some where. We went up in one paddock and down in the next, did see the town water supply, a quarry and a polo field, accompanied with the strong smell from the dog food factory. Wouldn't recommend this ballooning location. We were picked up from Main Beach at 5 past 4 right on time however spent 45 minuets waiting in a car park so missed the sunrise would suggest a max of 15 minuets wait for late arrivals.

Ballooning over Beaudesert - not Brisbane.. Very misleading !

My partner and I were stay with family in Brisbane over the Xmas/New Years break each year and I always remember see the hot air balloons flying over the city each year.

My partner booked a surprise hot air balloon ride for me which I was very excitement about.

I am disappointment with your balloon ride because the bus trip to the balloon was over 2hours.

Our balloon did not fly near Brisbane we actually flew over a town called Beaudesert??

The balloon ride was smooth and the staff were ok.

The balloon landed after only 30minutes and we only saw some farms from the sky.

I want to try again but next time I want to fly over Brisbane.

Birthday treat
My wife booked this for my birthday. It was great! The bus was on time and the driver was friendly and informative. The balloon ride was fun and the pilot kept us up to speed with what was going on. We saw lots of kangaroos and wallaby in the paddocks as we flew over. Packing up the balloon and basket was voluntary and contributed to the experience. The buffet at the working vineyard was... Well a buffet.... But plenty of Aussie tucker. Overall a very nice time and highly recommended!

Amazing hot air balloon experience!!

One of the safest operators for hot air ballooning. Provides ample safety information on its website and its service for different types of passengers including kids. Excellent service with the guide who is also the driver of the coach transfer to and from the launch site. Got to know a little bit more of hot air ballooning through the simple yet vigorous exercise of deflating and keeping the hot air balloon after descent. Take the 1 hour flight + champage breakfast as for a little bit more, you get to see more of the Hinterlands and Lamington National Park (where O'Reilly's Vineyard is located as the breakfast place). We got to see the sunrise and the beautiful landscape of the Hinterlands in a very peaceful way. A totally amazing experience away from the hustle and bustle of Gold Coast beaches. We were 2 adults and 1 kid of 4 yrs and my son totally enjoyed himself in the experience.
