My grandparents lived here while I was younger, so we decided to head back and have a look at what is on offer. The train ride and mine tours were an absolute highlight, and seeing dinosaur footprints with out own eyes was something to behold! The dam was a beautiful place to visit for the day, with BBQ areas and... More

If you've been on the road a while then you have probably seen this sort of attraction a few times already but what makes this a bit of a standout is the location and the way the town has responded to no-mine. It is quaint, picturesqeue, lovely scenery and has a very nice bakery. The drive to and from is... More

Did a private tour with a group. Very interesting to learn about the area. Some of the buildings are great to photograph. Nice views from the top of the unused dam.

Worked at MM for some years. There's so much history, over 100 years. I think it's still the largest man made open cut in the Southern Hemisphere. Also the richest gold mine in the world, profits started many other well known companies. Very likely it will reopen by the end of 2016. It was the life blood of the region... More

Really great tour. The historical administration building was the highlight for us. The fossil museum hiding inside was such a surprise bonus - some amazing and special fossils from all over the world hiding there! The tour around the Mt Morgan streets to see the historic buildings and hear about the history of the town was also very interesting. It... More

There is not such a lot close to Rockhampton unless heading to the coast so the thought of checking out a bit of early and ongoing history was appealing. It also meant going for a drive in a part of the country not seen before. John and his lovely daughter met us at the Tourist Information Centre at 10:30 on... More

We didn't know anything about Mt Morgan so booked ourselves on the tour to be educated on the town's history. And we weren't disappointed as the two hour tour was extremely thorough and not rushed covering every aspect of life in the town and the mine itself.
