If you are going to the Low Isles this is the only way to go. You will comfortably cruise in an authentic Chinese Junk on a relaxing ride to the Low Isles. The captain and crew are fantastic and make the whole day more enjoyable as they crack jokes and give you the inside scoop on what happens in Pt Douglas. The diving on the reef is jutsbas good as the outer reef and a better experience than you would get with a larger boat. Small group of 12 makes it more enjoyable. On our dive we saw amazing coral formations, loads of different fish, a turtle and some black tip reefies. Dive was led by the crew and even novices that had never dove before managed well. After the dive the lads put on a bloody good spread with local caught prawns. 10/10 would do again. One of the best tours I've been on.

We were looking for a relaxing sunset cruise off Port Douglas and found it with Shaolin. Smaller boat, friendly crew, good music. A fun way to see the sun go down before dinner and take in Port Douglas and the surrounding area from the water. Good for couples and small groups. Would do it again next time! We were a family of 3, including a teenage daughter. We all enjoyed it. A nice change from the big boat experience.

My wife and I really enjoyed this trip around port Douglas. Unfortunately due to the weather we did not get to see any sort of sunset, but that did not detract from a very enjoyable and informative cruise around the stunning Port Douglas. The boat is beautiful and the crew were good fun and made the trip for me. Would recommend this for anyone looking for something a little bit different.

We had a great day out on the Shaolin Chinese junk skippered by Rob and ably assisted by Floyd.
Very comfortable boat, doesn’t take very many people which suited us, there were 11 on our trip. Food , water bottles, and a drink with lunch supplied with the ability to purchase more if needed. The food was excellent quality and feeding the prawn shells to the reef sharks was a treat to see.
We were given the snorkeling gear and stinger suits with clear instructions on use. Floyd was in the water with us pointing out and explaining various corals and fish, and occasionally making sure we were all ok.
Rob walked us round points of interest on the island and explained lots of interesting tips of the coral at low tide.
Overall we had a great day full of fun and facts, learnt so much.
A big thanks to Rob for his expert captaincy and knowledge imparted so effortlessly, and to Floyd for all his help and knowledge.
We would definitely recommend this trip.

Went this evening for a sunset cruise and highly recommend it. The junk itself is beautiful and flynn the owner is relaxed, informative and fun as well as his offsider. You end up making friends with the other guests and relaxing with some drinks. I would definitely do this again. Support a local business and book your tour and see the beautiful waterways of Port Douglas.

My friend and I did the lunch time cruise.
If you are in Port Douglas and want to try new things, do this.
An hour and a half cruise along the river includes 2 of the most delicious spring rolls, one crocodile and one barramundi and an Asian slaw.
You then receive 8 enormous fresh tiger prawns with lemon, cocktail sauce and a piece of sourdough bread.
Flynn and Floyd are your skipper and decky.
Honestly, for $65 you can't go past this cruise.
As Molly Meldrum used to say "Do yourselves a favour".
You won't be disappointed.

I went on a Sunset Cruise with this mob. I was with 5 other adults and 4 kids 5 and under. We were in the Cabin. 90 minutes of horror trying to avoid the kids getting overboard or falling 10 feet into the bottom of this Junk. Zero safety for kids and or adults. Doors either side where anyone could have fallen through into a shark infested sea. No safety precautions on the stairs to the hold. At least a 10’ foot drop. How that Vessel is allowed to put children at risk like that is beyond me. Pure horror show.

Our day cruise to the Low Isles was the best boat trip and snorkel I have been on to date! Lovely boat and Rob and Floyd were amazing hosts – professional, friendly, informative and heaps of fun. All the fellow guests seemed as happy and relaxed as me and my husband, and were all talking about how good a day it had been when we were on our way back.

If you want something a bit different and quirky than what the other tour operators provide to the Low Isles, the Shaolin tour is the one for you and you wont be disappointed.

We will be back next year :)

Overcast, windy but still a fabulous experience on board this beautiful boat. Sailing out of the marina into the open waters off Port Douglas is something not to be missed. Weather can’t be controlled so disappointed not to see a clear sunset but still a wonderful way to end the day. Food, drinks etc all good, staff lovely.
