We came here from the Cairns Botanical Gardens with our 2 young kids and they both loved this playground, it was so nice without any plastic but so so well sought out. The kids didn't want to leave, even when the rain started! Definitely worth a visit if you have some time spare in Cairns :) We went during easter long weekend, and it was surprisingly not very busy!

We stayed at the Cool Waters Holiday Park that backs onto the park. The kids loved walking along the stream and "skipping" stones, and by skipping, I mean throwing stones into the water like all small children love to do. The playground isn't really designed for toddlers, and requires a bit of balance, or parent assistance, but both my littlies are agile and loved every second of it. The park is also partially a dog park aswell, so just make sure you're watching your children and you'll be fine.

We have been to Cairns many times but this was a new discovery! Lovely quiet, hidden spot just out of Cairns central. There is plenty of grass for picnics, good toilet facilities and a wonderful fresh water river to swim in. Dogs are also allowed off- leash.

Goomboora is a great spot with many uses. Take the kids to play on the playground, have a splash in the creek, have birthday parties, take the dog for a walk and swim, ride your bike on the bikeway, kick a ball, have a bbq. Like I said this park has many uses and is family friendly everyone I know really loves this place.
