I did a 3 day live aboard on the kangaroo explorer during which I did 10 dives. I dived at 5 ways, mantaray bay and East Timor Dive sites. I am a reasonably experienced diver and have dived in Japan, Mexico and Dominican Republic. I had hoped the barrier reef would be as good if not better than these and... More

Highly recommend going with CDC if you want to see the reef. We spent 2 days and 1 night on the Kangaroo Explorer doing 3 Intro dives. Personally, I had never even been snorkelling before so i thought that was cool enough until we got to the dive. Instructors are really friendly and well trained. We had Felix for the... More

I did the 5 days open water course and it was probably one of my greatest experiences so far. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. I did my course with Ethan, can definitely recommend. Carlton was one of the nicest people I've met.

We went with Cairns Dive Center to take dives at the reef. It was an old and small wessel, which is also used to carry over-night staying people and staff to a bigger boat. That's all it is good enough for. No one really cares for the snorkelers and divers. Had to ask several times to get a wetsuit and... More

Hello Evelyn, Im sorry to hear the trip wasn't to your liking. The $120 snorkel trip on MV Sunkist, travelling via the beautiful Fitzroy Island to the outer reef is one of the most popular and budget minded ways to see the reef. The faulty tank is news to us, and we follow a strict tank test thats done externally,... More

Our family 2A 1c spent 2 nights on board CDCs Kangaroo Explorer diving. It was very relaxing and we had a wonderful time. The boat is a little on the aging side, but if you don't mind that, it is excellent value. You'd be hard pressed to find an operation that can house, feed and get you in the water... More

The 2 day, one night liveaboard trip through the Cairns Dive Centre was an excellent experience! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the trip was pricey but worth it. The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. The boat was also spacious and provided areas for all supplies, for dining, and for chillin! The top deck was very... More

Alex and John helped me learn the diving basics and made me feel comfortable even though I was very nervous. Had a great time on this trip. Everyone was so... More

Had the best time on the reef thanks to CDC! CDC is one of the only locally family owned businesses left in Cairns to tour the reef. The staff were friendly and a lot of fun and took great care of us. We decided to snorkel and not dive which was still amazing. The locations that their amazing skipper Mark... More
