We have had numerous walks through its well maintained walkways whilst being on holiday, always discovering a new section! It's a must do as there are beautiful butterflies, interesting plant species and it is a very peaceful place to sit and relax.

We walked to the Botanic Gardens from the city which was a nice long walk and a good bit of exercise on holiday. What wonderful gardens to spend a morning. Great info centre with very reasonably priced cairns centric gifts. We then headed off into the rainforest walk....n then the red route walk (climb)... just a fabulous way to spend a day. A number of fantastic walking options in and around the gardens.. Highly recommend and a real credit to Cairns

There are mature trees, a wide range of plants - many but not all with common and botanical names displayed - and a tropical house that includes orchids and butterflies. Just like the rest of Cairns, it is best visited in the more temperate part of the... More

The gardens are beautiful and are set up in such a way that if you want to learn about plants you can. I particularly enjoyed the indigenous food plants area.

Great to experience the rainforest, freshwater and saltwater habitats that Cairns has on offer in addition to watching many bird species.

Amazing place to go and enjoy the plants and trees. Such beautiful flora that we do not have here in the United States. An absolute must see if you are in Cairns!
