Absolutely lovely and easy to get to with helpful bus drivers. We explored it on a warm day, enjoying the shade and a few pauses in the sunshine. Something for everyone with spiders webs to marvel at, butterflies to watch in the conservatory and gorgeous flora and fauna everywhere. Make sure you pick up a map!

Absolutely beautiful gardens in Cairns. Large number of different plants from tropical regions all over the world with a section specific to Australian bush food. Entry is free although I believe you can pay for a tour but a good deal of the plants are labelled and I personally don't think a tour is necessary. The main gardens are on... More

These gardens are really beautiful and well worth a visit. They also have a butterfly and orchid enclosure which is interesting. There are two cafes, one inside and one outside on the corner. The staff are very friendly and helpful and very willing to give hints and what to see and where to go.

A small group of friends enjoyed lunch at the Cairns Botanic Gardens Wild Bean cafe. We then strolled through the gardens and were delighted by the wonderful plants and orchids on display.

That's exactly what we did. A relaxed walk through the botanic gardens in Cairns. I would strongly recommend the bamboo, as well as the rainforest and evolution walks. Also there are the amazing "tanks" with a beautiful exhibition in one of them. The gift shop is not a big deal but you could have a refreshing ginger beer at the... More

Like many cities, Cairns has a really wonderful Botanic Gardens, but unlike others this has a real tropical feel to it, in keeping with the location in the tropical north of Queensland. Its a great way to spend a few hours in between energetic activities like visiting the Great Barrier Reef.

A lovely way to spend a couple of hours while waiting for our flight. The plants and flowers are beautiful and the waffles in the cafe were delicious. A good spot to visit.
