The train trip is fantastic and the commentary informative and entertaining. The scenery on the way up to Kuranda is amazing. Unfortunately as soon as we got there it started raining so we were unable to do some of the walks around the town and rainforest that we had planned. Nevertheless it was a pleasant day out.

Andrew picked us up and gave us a good commentary on the way to Freshwater Station to board the Kuranda Railway train. We enjoyed the long slow ride up to Kuranda and the scenery was enjoyable. Unfortunately the Skyrail is not operating at the moment due to COVID so we returned by coach, Andrew had recommended a cafe at Kuranda village which we enjoyed and we also went to the Butterfly Santuary 🦋. We met Andrew at the given time to start our descent back to Cairns, I had mentioned to him that I get motion sickness and we was kind enough to drive slowly around the windy road which I appreciated. Andrew Ian full of knowledge and a credit to the company’s he works for. He was friendly and gave us lots of information about the area.

Eric from Down Under Tours picked us up from our accommodation in Cairns and gave us a very informative commentary on local points of interest. We stopped at the Museum, Botanic Gardens, Barron Gorge, Palm Cove beach and we stopped at Noa’s cafe for afternoon tea including the most delicious banana bread topped with banana and passion fruit. Eric was a great tour guide and very friendly and helpful and full of local information and anecdotes.
