An idyllic location for snorkelling & diving - we got up close to big turtles & a large variety of colourful trpoical fish amongst the corals Michaelmas Cay. The water was clear & temperate for a perfect reef experience!

If you like bird watching you will not be disappointed. Nesting birds by the thousands. The area roped of does not stop the chicks wandering into your space. No other vegetation except sand. Snorkelling I would rate 100 for safety and the reef around a 80 out of a hundred. Giant clams turtles and reef fish.

Worth the trip. Only a few boats stop here, so not crowded. The coral is beautiful and fish are abundant

My family and I had a great time on our trip to Michaelmas Cay. We travelled with Ocean Spirit Cruises. The snorkelling was awesome and we saw many species of fish, some octopus and sting rays. We were disappointing to see the whitening of the coral. The majority of the coral was white in colour. Not sure if this was... More

Nothing more to say than amazing. Snorkeling was brilliant, although the waters were abit choppy, but non the less it didnt dampen the fact that your at one of the locations of the great barrier reef, cant really say anymore than that.

Since this is a bird sanctuary, you can't really walk on it. The area is definitely for snorkeling/diving and multiple tours go there.

may is not a perfect time because water is cooler for some people. But on the brighter side there is no jellyfish to worry about. It's low tide in first week of May and the coral aren't as colorful. It's a little sandy island to walk around but need to take a boat ride about 2 hrs.from the marina. It's... More

On one hand, one of many atolls in the world; on the other hand, it has huge appeal for bird watchers - only a small atoll and most of it is fenced to protect the bird life. Typical boats moor here to allow snorkelling and swimming but these can be done almost anywhere. The real attraction is seeing pelagics and... More
