This sand cay is beautiful. It has got a protected bird sanctuary on it. When you arrive there by one of the day tripper tours, they let you snorkel around amongst the beautiful reef. You can see lots of fish and turtles. You can also swim to the cay and lay on the beach. But you can't go past the... More

I went to this island as part of the Seastar cruise, you anchor off the island and a glass bottom boat takes you in. The island is a bird sanctuary and you could not see the sand for all the nesting birds and their fledglings. The snorkelling is excellent, plenty of fish, turtles and stingray.

We went on the Ocean Spirit cruise. Crew & everyone we're fine, but we got to Michaelmas Cay & snorkelled but there was nothing to see, so a waste of money. We did see coral in the semisubmersible boat, but I wanted to see it while I was snorkelling. Wouldn't recommend. I went on a snorkelling day with Down Under... More

Great place to see both marine life as well as the thousands of birds that call this place home. A fabulous place.

I went to Michaelmas Cay as one of three stops with Silverswift. Silverswift was a class act for safety but I expected to see beautiful coral reefs but everything was bleached a tan color. We saw no color except in the few fish which were yellow and white.

We booked with Ocean Spirit Cruises and from start to finish the trip was excellent......crew were great and looked after all levels from novice to experienced....walking of a little Desert Island into the sea was fantastic, as was the seme submersible......all in all great value and a memorable day provided by the hard working and helpful crew.......well worth a try

We visited Michaelmas Cay through Seastar tours. They anchored the boat aways off the island and took us to the island on a little glass bottom boat. The part of the island we saw was white sand, blue water and lots of birds - very pretty. We really didn't spend any time on the island itself but the snorkeling here... More

Do not see I could add much to many reviews. Just a couple of tips: (1) plan when the weather is a bit uncertain (fewer people), (2) allow as much "personal" time to explorer the beauty,(3) have all your gear with you, and (4) do not get stuck in endless cafe (pseudo-restaurants) with slow and poor service (not to say... This place was amazing; the island is something straight out of National Geographic with hundreds of birds nesting and protecting their eggs and younglings. The coral and sea life was remarkable in the shallow waters close to the shore. Tip: if you're doing a day trip to two places including this and you're planning on doing a dive, I would... More

A great place to observe bird life in a natural habitat. alos well maintained by not allowing tourists beyond a certain part of the island. Sunscreen, sunglasses, caps recommended as there is no cover of trees or any other kind.
