This place is AMAZING! If you're going to the Tablelands, please do yourself a favour and visit this incredible place. It's history is fascinating and the views are wonderful to photograph. We toured with Northern Experience Eco Tours and cannot recommend them more highly. This tour was the best value for money out of all the tours we went on... More

So, from Palm Cove it seems and endless drive through the windy Kuranda ( not good for car sickies) and then the boring drive to Atherton Tablelands. The curtain Fig Tree was a welcome stop and an amazing natural wonder. One of the highlights from the day. Then the lakes of Atherton, only cool thing was the fresh water croc... More

This is the most beautiful scenery in the world. Green rolling hills, views to die for. Little villiages everywhere with local produce and friendly welcomes. The best Australia has to offer

It always amazes me that the Tablelands do not attract large numbers of tourists. It has a wide range of attractions: waterfalls galore, scenery, forest, museums. Good boutique food outlets like Mungali Dairy (Millaa Millaa), Flynns restaurant and Whistle Stop Cafe (Yungaburra), Gallery Five and the Railway cafe (Atherton). Tolga bakery is great. Visit the Lakes -Eacham and Barine -... More

we did a self drive day trip from Cairns. stopped where we pleased, was pleasantly surprised by everything. lovely landscape, boat rides, shops, walks in rain forests, saw the Boulders which was beautiful, easy day and a wonderful cooler experience than the lower Cairns area in the summer.

Waterfalls, waterfalls, waterfalls... and some nice towns I didn't had to explore. Plus Babinda Boulders (and Babinda's free camp). Cairns is known for Daintree on the north, Great Barreer on east, but don't forget the southwestern Tablelands which are a great and fun place to visit, if you like nature, falls, or even more swimming! (pretty cool though, 15-20° water).... More

The Atherton Tablelands were exactly what we needed on our vacation. A place that was quiet, slow, down to earth, but with so much to do and see. We went to the many small towns and villages and toured a Mango Winery. We even got the wonderful experience of taking a hot air balloon ride over the Tablelands. That is... More

We did a bunch of stuff. The kids cracked geodes at the Crystal Caves which was great. Very nice jewellery for sale at reasonable prices. The Curtain Fig Tree was really good....a must see. My Uncle distillery was good. We bought a very nice whisky. Lovely gardens and a big dog to pat
