Description:

Seastar Cruises premium reef cruise combines the outer Great Barrier Reef...

Seastar Cruises premium reef cruise combines the outer Great Barrier Reef with a coral cay island. In only 1 1/4 hours the fast air-conditioned Seastar 1 can take you from Cairns to magnificent Michaelmas Cay, the largest of the local uninhabited coral cays. Cruising past Green Island, Upolu cay and Oyster reef Seastar is the first boat to arrive. After an enjoyable time here it is a short 20 minute cruise to the splendid Hastings Reef sitting on the very outer edge. This is where the corals thrive, well out from the coast away from the influence the rivers and streams, adjacent to the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. You will have 2 1/2 hours at each location. Plenty of time to go snorkeling, do a introductory dive, relax on the beach of the Island or join a tour in the Glass Bottom Boat at Hastings Reef. The day cruise on Seastar inlcudes Morning/Afternoon tea, high quality snorkel equipment, Wetsuit or Lycra suit (depending on the time of year), Glass Bottom Boat Tour, Hot & Cold Buffet Lunch, Reef Interpretation & Guided Snorkel Tours on each spot.

We went on the Seastar yesterday, and were fortunate to have beautiful weather and a really nice day. Great crew, lots of time to snorkel, and a nice boat! Only room for 40-ish, not like the larger boats with 200+ people on them. Food is ok, nothing great. But you're not on the boat to eat, you're there to swim... More

Traveling to Australia and want to dive. I have been a certified diver for 38 years. I found out due to my age I would need a physical in accordance with Australian standards. Completed the physical in the USA with a sign-off from two Medical Doctors. Sent a copy to a trip arranger in Cairns who sent it to Seastar.... More

Excellent group of young people, professional & helpful. I'm a non swimmer but they helped me to snorkel. Excellent & lots of variety in food in lunch and tea. Would definitely recommend this group to anyone lurking for Great Barrier Reef trip.

We were looking for a small tour of the Great Barrier Reef, and Seastar fit the bill. Seastar took us snorkeling at Michaelmas Cay and Hastings Reef. Skipper Sam and his crew made everything smooth and easy. They guided us through the best parts of the Reef. A tasty lunch was provided.

My family and I went out mid September. We had the perfect weather and the water was like glass. The young crew on board were brilliant. Very welcoming and easy to talk too. We tried scuba diving for the first time with Chelsea. She is fantastic. A great teacher and very helpful. Lunch was perfect for us. We visited 2... More

Absolutely loved this adventure. Climbed aboard at 7.30 am. Coffee and muffins available. Safety briefings clear and easy to follow. Friendly staff. Beautiful coral and stunning fish seen while snorkeling at Michaelmas Cay. Lunch was yummy. A second snorkel at Hastings Reef. Great afternoon tea. Definitely a day to remember!

There's a reason this is the top boat tour in Cairns! From the moment I stepped onto the boat, I knew I would be in excellent hands no matter what happened, which became particularly important for me during this outing. I signed up for the introductory scuba dive and thought I was ready to tackle it. Unfortunately, my own nerves... More

We took the Seastar full day cruise to Micahelmas Cay and Hastings Reef and had a tremendous day. The crew is top notch. From the second you board the boat, you know that you're in good hands and traveling with a company that has a well oiled system in place. I had originally intended to snorkel and not try the...
