It was an unforgettable day. We enjoyed the diving and the snorkeling a lot. The boat is huge and wasn't too crowded. The weather was perfect. The crew was friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable compared to other companies

The Down Under Cruise & Dive team is excellent. Very reasonably priced compared to the other alternatives and their crew and service is out of this world. The food on the boat was great, savory and it was a lot fun to listen to the...More

90% of passengers were sea sick including my wife and I. If he had reduced his speed by a couple of knots I don't think anyone would have been sick. They told us it might be rough and SOLD us anti sickness pills. When we finally...More

Not a thing for backpackers! Overpaid, had to pay several extra fees. Did not go to a good place. Where we went the reef was all grey, not what I expected. Way to many people on a big boat. Went snorkling, people went in my...More

Excellent. Kept us entertained on the way to the reef with various staff introductions and kit collection etc. Choppy trip, even the crew were feeling it. Three decks with a plenty, unlike previous trips we have been on to GBR. Both sites had excellent snorkelling...More

The boat is clean, new, and comfortable. They don't over fill the vessel with people which is great. There are plenty off staff to help you and it doesn't feel too crowded like some other boats. There is plenty of time to snorkel and viewing...More

What reefs do you visit? Do you know the extent of their bleaching? (so very, very sad). How's the coral color and fish from your tour? We'll be there August 16-20. This will probably be our only chase to visit Australia, and is the main focus of our trip (see and be with the Reef, so we are trying to find the best condition coral around Cairns. We hear the coral loss is less as you go south. That begs the question, shoulder we go further south (of course that wouldn't help you tour company 😞. Thanks very much. Jan

HI Jan, Not sure about the extent of the bleaching. The coral on our trip was beautiful. Also they have a semi-submersible boat so even people that don't dive or snorkel can view the splendor. Best dive boat I have ever... More

Hi All. I understand this tour takes you to two different sites on the Outer Reef. We've been concerned about the bleaching of the Reef, around Cairns and north. We will be in Cairns August 16 - 20, 2017 and would like to take a trip out to the Reef (of course! :-)) while we are there. How did you all find the color of the coral and the fish on this tour (Down Under Cruise & Dive)? We had one friend come back who took a Reef tour out of Cairns (I don't know which company or where he went exactly), but he said he was disappointed that there was not much color int he coral or many fish. I just wanted to know how your experience was since a lot of you have gone very recently (March/April). Thanks so much! Jan

Hi Janice. Dive Down Under goes to Norman and Hastings reefs. From the information provided by the marine biologist on board there it's only around 15% bleaching, but they are very careful and give clear instructions at... More
February 9, 2014 I posted on July 1, 2014, regarding a terrible accident I had on the boat. I have tried to contact anyone, but the only email address on the site, the one to book tours, hasn't been responded to. I haven't heard anything from anyone on the boat. I haven't receive any help from manager, Scott Cappellani, not even to my posts. I have requested a copy of the incident report, that was completed after the injury, but haven't even gotten that. I haven't had any contact from this company since I left the boat by ambulance. There has to be someone to respond to people in this situation. My only thought is that Down Under is concerned about legal action. If there is anyone, who can help me contact any person who is a representative of this company, please email me. . I will say that Vanessa, an employee, was most helpful in her support after my fall down the steps.
