'Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours' specialises in small group day and night rainforest wildlife tours. It is magical to be involved in seeing a wild animal unrestricted in its natural environment in the rainforest. We often see platypus, birds, possums, tree kangaroos, insects, frogs, owls, reptiles, various invertebrates and other animals on our tours. As a lot of Australian rainforest animals are nocturnal, a night element and spotlighting is included with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide.

We have just got back (11.00 pm) from this wonderful trip into the rainforest. The group was small (10) and Paul's depth of knowledge about animals, environment, history and people was exceptional. He also made sure everyone felt welcomed and safe and enjoyed themselves. We saw a huge variety of animals including the platypus, possum, tree kangaroo and numerous wallabies.... More

We saw so many things on this trip. It started well seeing wallabies in a field and licking an ants bum and went uphill from there! We saw tree kanagaroos, a platypus (twice), possums, spiders, lizards, turtles and bilbies. We saw the cathedral fig and poisonous plants. We saw a tea plantation. We had a fantastic dinner as well. I... More

That you for putting up a review. Glad you enjoyed it. Surprising where us Brits turn up isn't it! I have been here 20 years now so I do feel a bit Aussie. More

This is a different kind of rainforest tour. No trains through the rainforest. No sky way through the canopy. Just sheer unadulterated rainforest animals birds and sights. Paul, your guide is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You start with wallabies and end with geckos in the dark. And cover some of Australia's rarest beasties in-between. You even get afternoon tea and diner... More

My husband, myself, and my son took this tour in July. Pual picked us up right on time. It was a small size tour of 6 people, which I think was perfert. We had a great time with Pual. He is very professional and knows a lot about the rainforest, both animals and plants. At the begining of the afternoon,... More

Thanks for taking the time to put a review up. So glad you enjoyed it. And you are right I will not give up on finding a platypus until we have to! A bit of perseverance is all it takes. More

My personnal favorite activity in Cairns. Paul is very friendly and knowledgeable, and he'll get you to lick an ant's bottom and, if you're lucky, you'll see Toby and Mike, the possums! I'm only giving 5/5 because I can't give more. Really awesome tour to see nature and wildlife.

We saw so many things on the tour. Wallaby, green ants(taste acidic), big bats, tree kangaroos a mother and a baby hoping on the ground, cathedral fig tree, small bats, nasty poisonous plants, we sat on a long vine which makes a perfect swing, 2 volcano lakes, turtle, arrow fish, pelicans. We also saw a platypus feeding in a lake for... More

Rainforest, wallabies, flying foxes, honey eater birds, platypus, possums and more - all in a days work for Paul, who knows just where to find them. We were a small group of 6 taking a tour lasting approximately 10 hours including travelling time, with a stop for dinner at an Italian / Swiss restaurant serving good food. The trip takes... More

We went on this tour today with Paul. It was a wonderful experience. We saw platypus, tree kangaroo and many other creatures. It was a small group of people. Dinner was good too. Highly recommend it.

I saw almost as many animals as a visit to the zoo but all in their natural habitat.Paul knew exactly where to go to get the best chance of seeing the different inhabitants of the rainforest. When we got the binoculars out I imagined everything would be in the distance but a lot of the animals were quite close up.... More
