Located at Southbank under the Goodwill Bridge is the Queensland Maritime Museum. Climb aboard ships such as the HMAS Diamantina, experience what it would have been like to work in the dry docks and even marvel at Jessica Watson's (Ella's Pink Lady) the actual boat she used to circumnavigate the world! Even though we aren't boat enthusiasts we found this... More

Being a Tour Guide/Manager that's lived and worked in Brisbane for over 15 years (at the time), I was a tad embarrassed to have not 'discovered' this incredible venue prior to my Brisbane Open House posting there a few years ago now. I was incredibly surprised and pleased: 1) to have discovered this tourism and local history gem in the... More

This ship is worth a look at any age, your bound to find something interesting on board. To think that many people moved around this ship at ease is mind boggling when it was at sea. There are stairs to climb, I myself didn't do theses stairs but I totally enjoyed my time on the boat.

This has been here forever and is worth a look if you're going near the goodwill bridge and headed over to the botanic gardens.

Allow a few hours for a visit. Lots of excellent models of ships, including the old Orontes and Orion builders models. Jessica Watsons round world yacht, the historic steam tug Forceful, and the WW2 corvette HMAS Diamantina that you can explore at length. So much to see, and very cheap entry. Located near all forms of public transport and the... More
