The building is very impressive with its Roman columns and copper dome sitting overlooking the Brisbane River. It is part of the University of Queensland and houses restaurants and meeting facilities. Other than its interesting architecture there is not much more to see.

Recently attended a conference for several days at Customs House - hard to really fault anything about it. The venue easily accommodated our participants of approximately 65 people. The food and drinks functions throughout the conference were all excellent, enhanced with the beautiful backdrop of the river. Perhaps the only fault was what I also consider one of its points... This beautiful riverside building is maintained by the University of Queensland, and while I'm not sure if it is open to the public, anyone who has the chance to attend a reception here should do so, if for no other reason than to admire the beautiful architecture.

The original Customs House located along the river in Brisbane has been turned into a dining establishment but it is still possible to visit and have a light meal, lunch or dinner there. It is worth doing so just to see some of the original interior of the building. The food is good but very pricey (expect $100+/person for a... More

Attended a wedding reception here. Absolutely beautifully set out. The pre reception nibbles on the patio to the full reception meals were fantastic. Service great. Being involved in the wedding planning, the staff were very helpful. The views across the river to the bridge...amazing

A beautiful, historic building, located at the top-end of Brisbane's CBD. Amazing architecture, beautiful restaurant and views of the Brisbane river. It is also available to hire for events and weddings.

Originally a Customs House in the heart of bustling Brisbane's wharf district - nowadays it has been restored & has become an elegant restaurant open most days for lunch & is often the "it place" for functions & celebrations at night. Steeped in history - it is now run by the University of Queensland so the profits are put to... More

If you want to see a heritage-style building, this is a great example. It is now managed by the University of Queensland and hosts conferences, meetings, weddings and events. There is a great restaurant on the lower floor which spills out onto a courtyard overlooking the Story Bridge and Brisbane River. A more ideal setting would be hard to find.

This place is free to enter and if you love old blgs and old architecture then come on in. It also has a reasonable cafe and bar, with seats outside to enjoy the water experience.
