The resources at SLQ are wonderful, whther you're looking for a general read or specialist sources. Staff are always helpful and there are many treasures to be found, especially in the John Oxley Library on the 4th floor.

Have been here plentiful times and it most definitely gets old! It is an amazing place if you have difficulty studying at home or get distracted really easily. The vibe in the library makes you even more motivated to complete your work! One of my favourite places to go when I have alot of work which needs to be done.

What a fantastic asset this is to the city of Brisbane. I've used this place as my study hangout on so many occasions and I love the feel of it. You can choose any number of library areas progressively quieter but all with a variety of ergonomic seating and tables, great wifi access, surrounding greenery and spaces for comfortable byo... State library a real asset. Right next to the river with great displays for all age groups it is blessed with fast internet, cool and quiet places and great resources. Architecture to admire, a distinct plus to the cultural precinct

We went to the Library by accident after visiting the markets right next door. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of facilities available in a very comfortable and pleasing environment. We spent several hours there and left feeling totally relaxed.

The library building itself is a wonderful piece of architecture, connecting the inside and the outside in an interesting way. The sitting spaces inside are varied according to what you need to do, and there are lots of books (surprise!) to refer to or browse through, as well as computers and power points for plugging in your own laptop. We used one of the facilities for a large scale presentation and lunch. The presentation facilities (The Edge) were impressive and seem quite adaptable. The lunch catered was a salad/light sandwich lunch and was light but with plenty of variety and tastes.
