The State Library of Queensland tag is "All yours" - without a doubt it caters to all ages and demographics, travelers and locals alike. Particularly though, the State Library is a wonderful space for children. Without a doubt it is one of my favourite places to enjoy time with my kids. 'The Corner' is a space which fosters literacy, creativity,... More

I visited a lot of libraries in this country, but so far, Brisbane's one is my favorite one. It's a very relaxing place. It's big, free and comfy. Unlike most of libraries you have really big and large seats, you can really lay down on them. The library isn't located in an historical building, neither it has something special, except... More

I visited the library to conduct research for a book I am writing. I ordered original historical documents online the day before my visit and found this a very easy experience. On arrival I was struck by the beauty of the library building and quality of the historical exhibitions. The staff at the John Oxley Library were exceptionally helpful and... More

Even though I visited the State library as part of a study tour as part my studies, I found the it amazing the skills involved with the people behind the scenes of so much amazing customer service. The work that went on behind the scene to the newest installation "THe art of skin". I also like how interactive they are... More

I made daily trips to this library to make use of their free wi-fi! There's small areas (tables, chairs, or desks) where you can sit down with your laptop and cram away on your homework, blogs, email, etc. I do recommend getting there as early as possible just as there is limited space available for personal use of their lounge... The State Library has floor after floor of wonderful rooms and resources, catering for children and adults of all ages. Activities are extensive, both creative and research driven. There are special areas for numerous types of users. I made extensive use of the Queensland Writers Centre area, and the staff and facilities are top notch. Any time you're in Brisbane,... More

Lovely trip up the Brisvegas on Saturday for the official launch of Art of the Skins. Beautiful lunch put on by the lovely Mob at Dilly Bag. Bush foods supplied for tasting were from Five Kungkas. Very tactile art enjoyed by the communities that came together to create these lovely pieces. Thank you to all those brothers and sisters that... More

We only spent a little time here. The set up of this museum is very welcoming. You can come and go as you please with no questions asked. They have several open-aired areas to eat and just hang out. It also leads you down to the South Bank Parkland area. Just looking around there is something for everyone to enjoy... More

Great opportunity presented to be immersed in the great atmosphere of this great library. We are so lucky to have such beautiful libraries in Brisbane. The care and attention to detail and the exceptional and always helpful staff, make this a bibliophile heaven.
