Had a sticky beak as we wandered around the city (love libraries). Some excellent spaces to study with wonderful views of the river and city. Staff very accommodating and explained how various sections worked. Has some display on WW1 which was interesting. Probably not somewhere you'd look at unless you have heaps of time to spare.

It isn't just books. It is an architectural gem, a museum of local culture, a place to study and relax, views over the river, and Aboriginal area, a cafateria and a bookshop. Add free wifi. Can't complain.

Being a grandparent who looks after grandchildren I am always looking for special places to visit. Having discovered The Corner at the State Library it is becoming a favourite on my list. The Corner is for under 8s and is open from 10 to 3. If you have tiny ones it is probably best not to go in the school... More

Nice and quite place to charge up your devices, go on the computer for free and read a book. :) They also have a charging station that already has the charging cables in it, so if you ever happen to have forgotten to take your charging cable.. 😉

I attended the Brisbane Writers' Festival in 2016 which was held at the State Library of Queensland. I cannot fault the excellent service and food provided by the cafe. It was so busy and not once did I see a frazzled waitperson! They delivered with a smile and albeit there was a bit of a wait at lunch time and... More

I attended an afternoon conference here and the room was very good, except for some wind noise through the doors. We had drinks and canapés after the conference in an open area, which was cold (not expected in Brisbane) but the venue was nice.

A very comprehensive library offering all necessary facilities and also a great place for students and researchers to work and study. Great coffee shops inside the building

On a sunny day sit outside or in a warm spot to enjoy some winter sun. Free wifi & great comfy reading areas - there is even a lounge room.

A great coffee table book section on the 2nd or 3rds floor. All books on design, so take an hour to see how playgrounds look in Europe or the history of typefaces. Great kids book area. Friendly staff. Quiet. Free. SPectacualr city vista from the windows
