This place is looking very sad! I notice a reviewer from 2015 said that (s)he had seen plans for a redevelopment but it hasn't happened yet except for taking away the aviary (and nothing has replaced it). Visible were 2 kangaroos, 1 wallaby, and a...More

Walkabout Creek is a balm for a busy city driven soul, with ample parking, a lovely open air cafe and a tranquil bird filled reservoir. The cafe which serves a range of breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea offerings is good value. The environmental centre is...More

Been here several times, its close to the CBD only like 15 minutes drive, a great spot to have a relaxing BBQ, sausage sizzle or a picnic.

Unfortunately the place was under renovation whilst we visited... however we did see the small amount of animals in the exhibits and got to pat a kangaroo casually laying out on the lawn. Easy enough to get around. Although, apart from entrance into the exhibits,...More

The same animal sanctuary is s pleasant and nicely kept place, animals seem happy especially the platypus. The whole place does look tired and needs a little facelift. But work is underway. Keepers friendly and cone out at 10 & 2.30 to feed the platypus...More

Went for a Saturday morning bushwalk. Got there at 7am and the car park was almost full already! Had an enjoyable walk but few unexpected hills so be prepared. Had a nice coffee afterwards.
