Been coming here for years - it's changed a whole lot & lost lots of its magic & charm. Why...they've gone absolutely crazy putting in bike tracks for younger kids & extra pathways just so people can carry kayaks/canoes from their cars down to the water. Where there was 1 path now there's 3 side by side - its crazy.... More

Took my daughter and her friend here with a few floaties to have fun on in the water. It was a week-end and very busy, but everyone was enjoying themselves. Not much shade to sit under in the grassed area by the water. Could do with a man-made shelter there from afternoon summer sun. We kind of sat in a... More

This is a lovely place to visit for views of the dams and some bushwalks. There's an information centre and a small zoo with native animals and birds. I'd recommend this as a cheap outing for families. I live nearby, so have walked around here on and off for years. Since the dam has been open for watercraft, it's become... More

it is a really nice place for hiking and boating, i am not sure if you can fish here. This centre is not far from Brisbane city. recommend to hiking in the forest, after that have a cup of coffee in the green frog coffee shop. I quite enjoy my days over there with my friend.

Just spent a couple of hours looking around the Walkabout Creek State Forest area. Saw wombats , Wallabies , Kangaroos, snakes , fish ,turtles, and a Quoll and Platypus. Great place for the children to explore and see rare animals and mammals. There is a cafe there for morning tea or lunch or to rest after walking the area. For... More

I've been here for a children's birthday party and my children love to go through the animal centre looking for animals and learning about them.

We had a wonderful day at the walkabout creek discovery centre. Ranger Jason did a fabulous display with the creatures (real hands on) our children throughly enjoyed the whole experience. The swimming area was pack with swimmers and kayakers enjoying the spot and the weather. I have not doubt we will be back. Thanks to the ranger team. Great job!!!

Very nice water and grass area and some very short forest walks, pleasant on a sunny day. Food was reasonable at the cafe too.

Walkabout Creek is one of my favourite places! The rangers do a great job at managing the info centre and showcasing the native aussie wildlife in the wildlife centre - you can tell they really love their jobs. They have a bunch of different activities and presentations to see.. we love Bruce the spotted-tail quoll and the lungfish :) My... More
