We went on a morning stroll & found the gardens so very peaceful & interesting some of the trees were extremely ancient origin. We then visited the attached markets which had a number of stalls including food stalls. There was a very good Jazz band playing. Highly recommended especially on a Sunday

If you like relaxing in natural surroundings, this is a good place to walk around. Not a highly cultivated botanic garden, but lots of pleasant walks and a good cafe. Only about 10 minutes drive from the city centre so a nice detox if you are tired of inner city urban environment.

Fantastic display, very diverse, great for all ages and totally free! Had lunch at the restaurant, very nice and reasonably priced. Just down the road is the planetarium also a great visit.

We enjoyed our time wandering the Botanic Gardens, very peaceful, beautiful place. They are adding to it all the time. A nice place to take a picnic.

We visited the gardens via the City Explorer bus. Having recently visited the gardens in Rockhampton we were not sure what to expect, but these are so much better. Peaceful and relaxing, lots of seats to rest and just take in the general atmosphere of the gardens, they are lovely. The general maintenance is to a very high standard. We... More

Very lovely gardens and very peaceful. There are so many beautiful areas and so many peaceful places to sit. It does not matter when you go, there is always something different to see.

Worth visiting if you go to Mount Coot-tha lookout, in fact much better than the lookout. Good, well kept gardens with easy paths to follow. You can cover most of the gardens in around an hour. Pop into the adjacent planetarium for a look. The cafe/restaurant is not great and cannot be recommended.

Quiet place to chill out away from the ceowds. Not particularly big but interesting enough. Nice breeze from the the river helps. Warning for those with kids there is no barrier at the foot of rhe slope to the river.
