Specialising in sub-tropical plants
Sep 2021
The Botanic Gardens at the base of Mt Coot-tha has beautiful plants from around Australia and around the world. The gardens specialise in sub-tropical plants, which grow profusely in Brisbane's favourable climate. Visitors can join guided tours at 11 and 1 pm. Please check on availability.

Beautiful location and stress release
May 2021
Beautiful location with many garden rooms, picnic areas and water ways.

SIGHTS
There are extensive garden rooms, fauna, wildlife, ponds, vegetable gardens, walkways and novel themes like statues, bridges and water powered mill.

WALKWAYS
Well maintained and tidy pathways.
Workers sweep and use blowers daily.
Flat, sloped and well signed.

RAINFORREST
Temperature drops as you walk in a small rainforrest. Look up and there are tall palms, balance on the stones while crossing a stream, photograph a black statue goana, smile at the water mill and tiny house. Lots to see and smile at.

INTERACTIVE APP
They now have an app you can use on your phone. Makes the experience of increasing your knowledge, appreciation for the gardens and finding areas very easy.

Not to be missed
Jun 2021
The gardens have expanded since our last visit several years ago and now provide an even more expansive range of tropical and sub-tropical plants and trees as well as an arid area. Everything is well labelled and the gardens must be particularly interesting for visitors from cooler countries. Brisbane is fortunate to have such an asset so close to the city centre.

Lovely gardens
Jun 2021
We took bus 471 from the city up to the lookout and then walked down a track to the gardens. They are lovely and we enjoyed the Japanese garden and the bonsai. We caught the bus back into the city from near the information centre.

So many different types of vegetation here a conservatory , a bonsai area, Japanese garden and Ferrari just to name a few. We could not see most of it as it is so vast. You can spend a whole day here.
