Quiet place to stay not much to do but if you have a boat the dam is the place to go here you can catch red claw or fish. Accommodation for a power site was cheap as for the washing machines. The downside is that...More

Make a camping trip out of this and you will find a peaceful retreat. In the wet the dam will more than likely be overflowing meaning the road below is unpassable therefore shut. Apparently there is good fishing below the dam wall but there are...More

A trip out to the Burdekin Dam (or Lake Dalrymple) is a fair hike from Townsville (290km one way) but is worthy of a day trip - particularly if the river is in flood. The water that pumps over the spillway after a big wet...More

This place is a hidden gem. It has obviously been a very popular spot in years gone by as there is a lot of infrastructure for camping and day use. The camping area is now run by sunwater at bargain prices considering the good size...More

My family and I go here quite regularly great place for families. I love being able to do a variety of things there like fishing, boating, walking, lookouts and tennis. The best part is the pool. My children look forward to our trip every year.

An impressive place to visit, being able to see such a testament to human construction. The road to the dam is well maintained and easy to drive. There are lots of facilities at the dam itself, including camping grounds, bbqs, and heaps of seating. The...More

What a place to escape technology. Go fishing on the dam(if you have a boat), waterski, get back to nature for a brief moment. No frills ,cheap.Peacocks roam the caravan park. Remember to take your own supplies,as the closest shop is over 120km away.
