Yet another beautiful beach on the North Queensland coast. Plenty of parking and a lovely spot for a quiet walk or to spend the day.

We stopped here (in adjoining car park) for a picnic lunch. There is some covered timber seating but we opted to sit on the beach and enjoy the scenery. Waters edge about 50m from tree line. Distant views both ways and great to walk on...More

THORNTON BEACH , Gorgeous coloured sand and huge expanse to go walking along. Unfortunately for us, it was very windy and this was not conducive to laying down and getting a calm and comfortable tan! In addition the stinger (jellyfish) and crocodile signs are out...More

So many beautiful beaches in Daintree, too bad that you can't swim anywhere because of the crocodiles. We only admired them and also have a good for a walk. Thornton Beach is something different, there is a small island across which is pretty to look.

Staying across the road at the bungalows meant we enjoyed the rhythmic waves throughout the night. An unwinding for tired minds. The beach is a good length for a sunset stroll.

A tranquil beach on the edge of the rainforest, peacefull, so perfectly clean. There are few beaches of this natural beauty left in the world.

We stopped at a kiosk next to the beach and after having a snack there was time to walk around this beautiful area. Our kiosk owner gave us a friendly warning to be careful where we walked as this is the territory of salt water...More
