An easy road trip from Cairns is the Josephine Falls. A bit of a walk from the car park but worth the effort. A number of viewing platforms at different levels of the falls. Great view from each one. Went on a weekday so not too crowded. Didn't swim this day but definitely will next time I visit.

Beautiful waterfalls, 700m walk from car park. Along the at we saw a couple of brush turkeys, and once at the waterfall there are a couple of viewing spots as well as an area to access the bottom swimming hole. Wear insect repellant as there were plenty of bugs!

From the carpark there is a decent walk to the falls which could be a little challenging to some. Once there, walkways and safety railings make it easy to access the pool and slide. The water can be cold and the rocks slippery to climb, but coming down is a lot of fun. The kids brought their snorkels and spent... More

Just a short drive off the Bruce Hwy we stopped off at Josephine Falls. The waterfall is beautiful and provides a small lagoon that allows you to not only take a swim but also be a bit of a dare devil and slide down the natural slide slide. Note - there are no walking tracks and be careful of the... More

Do not miss these falls. We stopped here on the way south from Cairns and boy were we glad we did! A nice amd easy 700m walk and you are exposed to a beautiful set of falls with easy access to swimming. When you first take a peek you will be breath-taken by the crystal clear water. It is fresh,... First off, it's a bit far away from the main road, so it takes longer to get there. Once you get to the trail - you'll probably notice the "Danger" signs everywhere. Apparently, this waterfall has a history of causing problems, so treat it with respect. I mean staying on paths is fine, but getting into the water - check... More

Beautiful and hidden gem hidden away unlike other waterfalls. There is a rock slide and the water is super crisp, clean and cold

This is a stunning location. Luckily there had been a couple of days of rain prior to our visit so there was heaps of water flowing. It is a great location to just walk to and look or go for a picnic etc. easy access. Yew all water falls are similar but there are also so different in there own... More

We went because our local friends told us we shouldn't miss it - so we went. We spent more than an hour walking around and enjoying the smell of the trees and clean air. Unfortunately, there was a large group of unruly European tourists (about 40 on buses) who were sliding down the rocks which was fine but they were... More
