    Lovely waterfront swim location
Darwin waterfront has plenty of eating options and the oil tunnels is just across the road as well. The waterfront is also great for the waterpark - swimming that you can do and there is also a wave pool. I know that the open water area was free, not sure if you had to pay for the wave pool or not. There is toilets nearby so that you can change into swimming gear/vice versa. There is plenty of sun lounges around for the public to use. Water was lovely and warm (not cold). There is plenty of shading around and would be a nice spot for families to take children for a swim. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere.
Thank you for your excellent review, we're pleased to hear you enjoyed Darwin Waterfront.

    Pleasant public outdoor space
Pleasant public outdoor space. Lots of people on weekend, but able to find a place to not feel crowded. Some shaded areas. Nice to sit by the sea. Several places to eat. Public toilet reasonable. Easy and pleasant walk from main part of Darwin.
Thank you for your great review!

    Darwin Waterfront
Visited a few times during my stay in Darwin from 29th April to 3rd May. I was lucky enough to experience the Thai Festival, great food and entertainment. Then back another night for dinner there as it was only a short walk from my hotel so very convenient.
Thanks Michael, we're glad you had a great time at the Waterfront!

    Most beautiful area
We are staying here in a top floor unit. But visit for a swim lunch or dinner there are so many food options. The atmosphere is beautiful. There is a wave pool, swimming area and an inflatable obstacle course on the water.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us such a positive review.

Refreshing location to swim and dine
We spent a few hours here enjoying a swim in the free area and then a lovely lunch in one of the many restaurants in the area. There is a covered walk way that takes you to the Jetty area. We didn't swim in the wave pool as the waves only operate for ten minutes every half hour. A cool place to enjoy the heat of Darwin.

    Great spot
Definitely a must-visit. Lots to do, great vibes. Family friendly. Safe environment with lifeguards present. Artificial beach was great too, many places to chill-out on the grass, either in the sun or under the trees, sun lounges provided too. Travelling solo I am always conscious of leaving things while I go swimming, but had no worries here. Walking distance from Darwin Central.

Coming to Darwin? Highly recommend staying at the Darwin Waterfront. Great restaurants and bars within easy walking distance.
Free shuttle bus takes you out to Stokes Hill Wharf, where you can visit the RFDS museum and experience the bombing of Darwin.

Walked here from in town, wonderful location to sit and relax and watch the city by night and also offshore. Distant thunderstorms provided a wonderful light show. Large moon fish, giant trevally, queen fish and large mullet provided great entertainment feeding below the jetty lights. Good choice of meal selection and the many restaurants on the jetty.

A short stroll from city centre, very family friendly, variety of food options. Swimming options - small beach (with life guards) and wave pool (at small cost). I always feel relaxed at the waterfront

The Darwin Waterfront is a place that can and will definitely become a better place. It has so far a heavy and intense night life, but during the day tends to be redundant and boring. We did not see any interesting activity happening there or nearby.

But the place has decent restaurants along the deck and there are interesting new buildings and real state being sold and develop, there fore we assume this will at some point become worthy of more.

We saw a lot of commercial spots being re-rented or sold; still with old furniture and belongings of the failed businesses that were the re before; which gives you an alert of the local economy perhaps being in trouble.

we decided not to give it a bad review as it wasn't hideous, but neither a good one as the local government and private sector needs to be more sensible about what's going on here.

We made a fake request as we portraying to be interested in one of these commercial spots and the price was ridiculous, speculative and shows why many business owners here perhaps had to close and leave everything behind. Not fair; prices have to come down and investment needs to be made to support those business owners.

I hope this review may warn others and perhaps help in the process.

As usual we recommend you to enjoy our profile and we always encourage our readers to please keep reading and liking our very interesting and in depth reviews on everything: Attractions, Hotels, Restaurants, Museums, Airports and basically anything that is of interest and has a public service. Good atmosphere and family friendly. They have many restaurants around although the prices are sky rocket high with poor quality food. Even minimart sells a bottle of cold water for $4.95 whilst major supermarket would be only a dollar or a bit more.

Playground offers covered play area and seats for adults. The area is beautiful at night with lights but be mindful of nasty mosquitoes and other insects.

First and foremost when you hire a Neuron scooter be extra careful to make sure you have paid for your 3-day $25 pass and have received a notification of receipt... before you start riding.
I thought I had requested two purchases via my iPhone app but only one $25 payment was received. Then it charged me at 45cents per minute for the second scooter.
I don’t think you can pay for two scooters via the app, so I’d urge users to download the app onto individual phones and scan the QR Code on each phone just so you know you’re not being charged for extra minutes or kilometres.
This was a pitfall for me as I’m not very internet savvy... I presumed I had made two $25 payments but only one had gone thru. I then got charged an additional $26 for 4 small trips (verified via my credit card) before I thought I’d stuffed up...
in reality you would think their App could allow multiple transactions though.
Just be careful.

A great area to go to eat. Super fish and chips. The restaurants are great - unfortunately not open all day.

We went early and would have loved to pick up coffee and cake but nothing was open.

Warning - parking can be at a premium on the weekends.

We went there with our grandson and enjoyed the playground, shady trees and swimming lagoon. It’s a real oasis from the heat of Darwin with a great variety of cafes, restaurants, bars and ice cream spots. It is immaculately kept and a very pleasant place to spend the day. Sometimes there are also movies and concerts or craft fairs.

This district is a significant and important focal point for visitors to Darwin, and has been drawing in visitors since it opened in 2010. It’s Darwin’s premier entertainment district, and offers a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment activities.

There’s over 20 dining options, including restaurants, pubs, ice-creameries and coffee shops. There’s an eclectic though small range of retail outlets mainly catering to the tourist crowd with clothing items, jewellery and quirky boutique goods. There’s a wave pool, and a simulated beach and bathing area for relaxing and sunbathing. There’s also an Aqua Park, though the cost to use that is quite steep, at $25 per one hour session.

The area is nicely maintained, with neat lawns and lots of flowering trees and shrubs, some interesting sculptures, and a walkway that connects an old historic wharf to the precinct.

A visit to this precinct should certainly be included in any visit to Darwin. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the business heart of Darwin. There’s a number of hotels on site, and a number of car parks. It’s a pleasant spot to while away a few hours.
