Great coffee, iced coffee and salads from the Cafe. Sit under the frangipani tree and look at the park and Timor Sea. Shop has wide range of indigenous art and product. Great spot

The gallery was really interesting, especially the bush tucker pantry and the artists’ room with all the excellent books. I recommend this! The cafe was disappointing though. I was served by an uninterested young lady. Ordered a watermelon and river mint frappe with Kakadu plum and quandong added. Finally got my frappe except it was a juice. No mint. Took it back in case it was someone else’s and I was received by an unimpressed older lady. I politely inquired if it was someone else’s as I had ordered a frappe. And she was not having a bar of it. That’s a watermelon juice she said and continued whatever else she was doing - and proceeded to ignore me as I stood there. Reckon I will not be back to the cafe side and I’m a local. I will tell others.

Aboriginal Bush Traders has wonderful and authentic cuisine showcasing Aboriginal food with a twist. I ate an excellent ham and cheese Panini. I drank a refreshing Rosella ice tea, which tastes similar to Hibiscus. The food was cooked to order and Raeleen greets customers with her contagious smile. The gift shop has fantastic indigenous items too. I purchased a rub that cures coughs for my father. The best part is that they're centrally located because it is a three-minute walk from my hotel.
Lastly, it is directly across ta park with a sea view.

Great café food at reasonable prices. Pleasant staff Thanks Sue
Enjoyed browsing the retail section of ABT but thought many of the authentic gifs and wares were quite expensive.

Bush traders cafe food is fantastic, fresh and fun plus you get to browse and buy amazing gifts in the shop. This cafe and shop is based in the historic Lyons Cottage on the corner of Knuckey and The Esplanade - definitely worth a look and a very pleasant lunch. A definite venue to take out of town visitors

Bush Traders is a hidden gem in a not so hidden location! As an Aboriginal Australian business, they boast an amazing range of authentic and ethically sourced, Indigenous goods including art, fabrics, jewellery, homewares and books.

Located in the heart of the city and operating out of a heritage cottage, I recommend the Australian native flavoured refreshing iced teas served at the adjoining cafe!

The range and diversity of the beautiful Indigenous arts and crafts was amazing. Very reasonably priced considering the work that goes into making them. Not for profit so most of the money goes to the artists which is more than can be said of the “white fella” run for profit places around. Great coffee too! Highly recommended!
