Botanic gardens an oasis

What a little or big gem this is in the dry heat of Darwin. A terrific place to explore at your own pace.

A bit disappointing, as there were no fruit trees, dogs are allowed, one of the lady Gardner was very helpful .

I took the bus there then walked to the gardens: I found the paths frustrating in that when you go off the main asphalt path it is a circular path and you come back to where you started. It was more walking than needed on a hot day. A variety of areas e.g. Rain forest, desert area, lawn and a... More

wonderful to walk around these gardens. Special highlight is the rain forest walk and the children's nature playground.

Just an absolutely wonderful experience meandering amongst the tropical scenery. Take a lunch and enjoy a full day here. Lovely little asking trails easy for any age.

What a great place to visit, the gardens were a lovely suprise. They are well maintained, lots of paths. Loved the desert garden. These gardens would suit anyone who likes gardens.

Small tranquil gardens with a pleasant cafe. Variety of plant areas from rainforest to desert. Birds flutter from tree to tree and scrub fowl scratch in the mulch. Lots of shady spots to escape from the heat.

We were a little disappointed with the gardens and felt that it wasn't at its best at the end of the dry season. It is was a great walk with plenty of shaded areas. A few more names on plants could be helpful. It is a large garden and we didn't see everything.

Botanical gardens is one of the things that I like to see when I visit a city, this one is quite nice one. The part that we have liked the most and can not be found in any other botanical garden is the Boab section - a collection of various trees from it original homelands: Africa and Madagascar
