We just walked in this area for a short visit, but I wished that we had more time to swim. It is a man made lake with no crocs ! So swimming is easy. It is a pleasant spot for a picnic, and children would love it. Toilets, shade and easy parking.

We noted on passing several times ,by vehicle, that there were a lot of cars in the area.Stopping in ,we saw people stand up paddle boarding and generally paddling kayaks etc so we came to the conclusion that this waterway MAY BE be croc free. You would have to decide that fact for yourself as with any waterway in "the... More

Worth a visit out to East Point and Lake Alexander. You can keep going out to the end by car, by bike or walking or stop for a swim. Lovely spot near the beach.

A man made swim lake with real sand and sea water, best part is no stingers, sweeping lawns and shelters. Lovely landscaping with plenty of parking and BBQ's. Ideal for family days, safe swimming for kids.

This is one of several spots in Darwin where a family can relax and enjoy the free barbecue facilities. There's a good playground to keep the little ones busy.

During my visit to Darwin I hired a car so I could do some sight seeing with ease. Plus having air- conditioning was a great way to escape the Darwin heat. Lake Alexander is a lovely place to visit as there is heaps of shaded greenery , water views , swimming holes & everything to keep families happy & entertained.... More
