Driver /guide forgot 1 pickup location, meaning those guests missed the jumping crocs Jumping crocs with Pat was great. Very knowledgeable. Stops at waterfalls were good, but didnt gain any real additional commentary or benefit from being on a tour as opposed to driving ourselves. Lunch was cheap supermarket bread and processed meat and salad. For the cost of the tour we could have easily hired a car and had a far more substantial lunch. Bus 'lost' 2nd and 4th gear initially, then 1st and 3rd gear meaning we were stuck in 5th and didn't stop to see termite mounds. Drove through a stop sign in 5th gear. Luckily the other car travelling toward the intersection with right of way was a hundred metres away. Unfortunate timing for trip where some passengers received notification directing them to isolate and get tested for covid. No arrangements were made to assist isolating these individuals. It was only when other passengers queried it they were given masks, supplied by other passengers. They were not dropped back at their hotel as soon as possible to facilitate isolation but continued on to have drinks and prawns and then were dropped at Mindil markets. Totally irresponsible of the tour operators. Feel sorry for the driver/guide. It was his first tour after 1 familiarisation, and he had a fair bit thrown at him.

Thanks for your review. Breakdowns do occur occasionally on tour and they are unexpected. All operators have new guides to the industry since COVID. It takes some time to get up to speed on all the required knowledge but Simon does his best. Our tour according to NT Health is a tourism bubble with all passengers asked to use the Territory Checkin App where ever they go. All passengers on that day were tested with no positive COVID results received.

What a day!! I was the first on the bus with a 7am pickup, before gathering everyone and heading towards the jumping croc cruise. This cruise was spectacular!! Absolute highlight of the day! Pat is a local who knows the water so well and is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the crocs. The alpha crocs are HUGE! From there we made our way to Litchfield. (There are a few stops throughout the day for bathrooms breaks and coffees). Unfortunately as we were arriving at Wangi Falls, our bus broke down!! We were stuck there for 4 hours. Everyone was relaxed though and there are certainly worse places to break down but it did throw the day out of whack. The champagne was opened here instead of at sunset which seemed to please everyone. Lunch was also had and that was delicious! An assortment of meats, salads and bread to make a sandwich or two each. It’s a shame the cafe closed at 2pm as we didn’t leave this area until 4:40pm. Once we got going again, we arrived at Florence Falls and had a relaxed dip in the upper pool area. Water was clear but quite rocky. We had to make the decision of spending more time in the smaller pool or less time downstairs at the main swimming hole at the bottom of the waterfall. We were all ready to get in the water at that stage so made the call to spend more time in the smaller one. From there we drove to the termite mounds, this really only needed to be a small stop (which it was due to the breakdown) as there’s not really much to do other than take a few photos. Still a great site to see though. We made our way back to Darwin from there but with a stop at the Litchfield pub so everyone could wet their whistle after a very long day! Despite the second part of our day getting quite condensed, I still had an absolute ball!! I cannot thank our tour guide Ian enough, he remained relaxed and in a good mood the entire time. Also a shout out to my fellow tour companions because at no time did I hear anyone really quick up a massive fuss about the bus breakdown. We all just got on with it… a true Aussie attitude. I was first on the bus at 7am and dropped back at the hotel at 8:30pm. Later than expected for obvious reasons. A very big day.

Thanks so much your review. Breakdowns do occur. This was the first in 7 years. Ian did his best on the day and I commend him. I also thank all passengers for being patient whilst the recovery vehicle arrived. I hear you all enjoyed your swim and complimentary drink at the pub

This tour was fantastic but I’ll put a special highlight on the jumping crocodile tour. It’s the best way to see the crocodiles while your in Darwin. It’s amazing to see them in there natural environment compared to a farm or park. Tour guides are very good, the day is filled with fun and adventure. We loved pat from the jumping crocodiles tour! Getting to end the day with a swim under a waterfall was a very memorable experience!
