The Darwin Bike Hire listed has not existed for 4 years! The street bikes are not for everyone. If you want to hire a REAL bike got to The Scooter Shop (8941 2434) on Stuart Highway.Dave is very helpful and the rates are fair and better than using credit cards for inferior bikes.…

It is getting a bit hot in Darwin, but we decided to get up early and hire the bikes for 4 hours. We would rather have had a 2 hour option, but in the end, we only returned our bikes 10 minutes early. We bikes around the city. Found some breakfast and bikes some more. We especially loved biking around East point. We were very impressed at Darwin’s friendly biking trails. They were everywhere. If we took a wrong turn, it didn’t matter. We were never without a path. …

Excellent, easy and convenient way to get around Darwin. Spinway have got bikes at convenient locations around Darwin, which you can hire for a period of time which suits you. Unfortunately they are expensive and not exactly convenient if you want to hire it for 48hours as you are paying fort it when you are asleep! It would be nicer if they offered different options of 8hours and 12 hours as well…

I hired a bike from one of the spinway stands which was mechanically sound and perfect for riding around Darwin. When I got a flat tyre though they were not so helpful. They said it was my fault and that I must have run over something. They told me I would have to pay $20 for them to collect me. When I argued this was probably not fair the only response was “it’s in the terms and conditions “. …

Given in Adelaide you can get a share bike for free or in Melbourne for around $50odd you can get access to share bikes for a year, paying $44 for 3 hours is seriously overpriced for what it is. Aside from that, the bikes are easy to access and do provide a great way to explore Darwin. …
