Had a great evening on the harbour, enjoying the sunset over Darwin with a really nice meal. Honestly, it is a bit clunky but that is part of the charm of it all. We are Territorian's of 25+ years and really enjoyed the experience. Tucker was nice. The prawns were not everything that I expected them to be but the rest was awesome. Oysters were the bomb, along with the locally smoked Mackerel. Everything was fresh as. I would recommend taking your own beer or wine (as it is OK to do so) as our bar tab added up quickly, as we didn't bring drinks with us. Great staff and informative. I recommend the dining option as the food was of great quality.

We thought it would be good to finish our stay in Darwin with a sunset cruise. Looking at the options, we chose the Cape Adieu sunset cruise (we didn’t want the full meal) and have no regrets at all.
Staff were welcoming from the start, we were pleased to be allocated a place on the top deck (which was terrific for the views), drinks were good value and the “tasting plate” food far exceeded our expectations. And the sunset delivered the goods too!
Overall a wonderful evening and we would highly recommend the Cape Adieu. Definitely worth its slightly higher price.

We thoroughly enjoyed your Sunset Prawn Platter Cruise which we did on 25th July.

The boat was a perfect size- not too big and not too small and we really enjoyed our position at the back with the beautiful sea breeze.

The staff were all so wonderful – friendly and very, very helpful especially since we had one of our group unexpectedly in a wheelchair/on crutches. We cannot speak more highly of them!

The prawns were superb as were the dips beforehand. We really liked the way we were allowed to BYO our drinks and even extra food while still having glasses, crockery and cutlery provided.

We managed to score a perfect sunset with an awesome red glow.

All in all, 11/10 and we will be telling all of our friends how fantastic it was!

Well done and thanks,

Regards,
Sue

Cape Adieu is a 50 seat ketch that operates sunset cruises from Stokes Hill Wharf in Darwin. Sunset Cruises depart the wharf at 5pm and return at 8pm.

The boat is stunning and crewed by a friendly team. The skipper is informative and the food is absolutely delicious. Everything is made from scratch including the home-smoked Spanish mackerel which is also made into a delicious dip that forms forms part of the dip platter you receive on arrival. This isn't your usual surf and turf, throw-it-on-the-barbie meal. The food is of high quality and includes the smoked fish previously mentioned, fresh prawns and oysters, home made salads, bbq steaks, fish and sausages and the most delicious individually made mango cheesecakes for dessert.

The cruise is BYO, which means you can save money by bringing along your own alcoholic or soft drinks. Eskies, ice buckets and glasses are all provided.

I have visited Darwin many times but this was the first time I had ever been aboard Cape Adieu and it was a definite highlight. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner cruise as a work function for 12 people and it was a terrific way to see the Darwin coastline, a magnificent sunset and then Darwin by night. Highly recommended. The bottomless buffet of prawns, Spanish mackerel and Coffin Bay oysters as our entrée was a highlight. Great boat for those who may be susceptible to sea-sickness as it is very smooth and the skipper is very experienced. Steaks for main were cooked perfectly and the staff are very friendly. Our group BYO’d our drinks and it is worth supplying your own esky as there is plenty of room to store them. We enjoyed our cruise with a couple of International food bloggers and they were very impressed with the cruise and the quality of food and selection of onboard wines. Once the cruise completed (approx. 8pm) it is well worth staying on the dock and watching the hand feeding of the wild fish as the moon fish are huge.

We boarded a traditional, old style ketch at Stokes Hill Wharf, Dock 3, ~1hr before sunset for a 2.5 hr 4-course dinner cruise around Darwin Harbour. We were allocated a table for two on the rear starboard side on the lower deck - could not have been better. The weather was perfect and as soon as we were underway out came a selection of home-made dips and crackers. BYO was available so we had brought on board a bottle of white wine which our waitress (Vivian) placed in an ice bucket together with chilled wine glasses. Then came the self-serve entrees - a delicious selection of banana prawns, coffin bay oysters, salads, and crusty breads - never ending - if the prawns or oysters needed replenishing, more were brought out. Following this entrée feast we were asked whether we would like fish or steak for a main course. We both chose the fish and it was amazing. All this time we were cruising at a very low speed along Darwin Harbour, with the sun setting, and observing the beautiful views of the city skyline - a truly relaxing experience. As we slowly turned for our return journey we were offered a cheesecake dessert and tea or coffee. The informative captain's commentary, together with the cheerful and helpful staff, and the friendly banter with other guests, made this leisurely, value for money dinner cruise one we will always remember. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Four of us tried to book a different cruise, but it wasn't available for the night we wanted. Adieu cruises had availability, and I know booked the night before - late.
We sat at the top and the boat was completely booked out. For the price we paid, we had value for money, a great three course meal, including fresh prawns, comentary on Darwin and the most beautiful sunset.
The staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. (We had Sharon, she was awesome)
I really recommend this cruise, it was really lovely.

This was our second sunset dinner cruise with Cape Adieu Harbour Cruises, so our expectations were relatively high. Again we had made sure that we booked online ahead of our trip to Darwin, this time we requested a seat on the top deck (which is smaller, more personal and you get great views). They are a really professional operation and as a result everything runs so smoothly. There was more than enough food at the buffet - delicious fresh oysters, prawns and smoked Spanish mackerel. The jus on the scotch fillet was a little watery and the steak wasn't the best cut of meat - not quite like I remembered. The cheesecake was so much better than last time. In saying that the service that the staff provided was excellent. The cruise itself was truly memorable - nothing like cruising the harbour watching the sun slowly set into the ocean. I really recommend going on a harbour cruise when you're in Darwin and would also strongly recommend Cape Adieu - book in advance so you don't miss out.

We did the sunset dinner cruise which lasted for about 3 hours.
We enjoyed wine, dips, seafood and steak that was on offer and all were very good while cruising around the harbour.
Then sit back and relax, take in the great views and spectacular sunset on offer
and don't forget your camera!
Parking is available on the Stokes Hill Wharf where you board from and also prior to the wharf on the left depending how busy it is as there are many other food outlets on the dock.
