This lounge is now being used for the transit stop to and from London on Qantas flights. It is quite small and the range of food is adequate. However, the staff really made it. They were obviously enjoying their jobs and were so friendly. They lined up as we were all re-boarding to thank us. Good to see people really trying hard - I hope Darwin gets to keep the transit flights (as Perth does not deserve them!).

We were fortunate to manage to get on one of the last international flights out of Darwin into Singapore. From what it looks the Catalina Lounge might be closing down as well as a result amidst all the flight cancellations. It was a surreal mood in the lounge with all that is currently going on. However, from the moment we entered the lounge until we boarded our flight, Fonda and Avi did a wonderful job taking care of us and made us escape reality for a few moments. They were very accommodating and passionate about their work, something that is wonderful to see. We sincerely hope that the lounge can open again soon and let Fonda get back to what she is best at, making for a wonderful experience before take off.

Arrived at the Catalina lounge, It had everything I needed. Hot breakfast, coffee and so many other choices . The people working at the lounge were very accomodating. Travelling with 2 young girls is always difficult but this part of my journey was relaxing and inviting. Children under 12 can also get in for free which is perfect.

Found after going through 2 security checks and immigration, this place is Darwin’s hidden gem. Catalina Lounge is for Business Class passengers and Priority Pass members transitting at Darwin’s small airport. Though small, Fonda’s (the hostess) and Brad’s (the host) assistance have transformed it to a lounge with a first class service. They are a team which reflects hospitality at its best.

The lounge had fresh laksa soup to which you can add a salad bar of ingredients such as noodles, peppers, rice, broccoli, cauliflower, bokchoy, etc . Also a customize your own individual pizza station where your frozen basic pizza can be added to, and cooked in a special rotating oven while you wait. A full assortment of soft drinks, beer, wine, and liquor all complimentary. Fonda also served a friendly cafe latte & espresso. They had a faucet with hot (& cold) water for tea. They also had freshly steamed rice, meatballs, crisp eggrolls (with sweet and sour sauce on the side to complement it), egg noodles, vegetables, etc. in warmer containers (see photos).

The lounge opened up only some 3 hours prior to our flight to Singapore. It was only a stone’s throw away from Gate 11, our departure gate. They had a departure board in the lounge that indicates which flights are boarding.

The wifi was 22 mbps download & 35 mbps upload. That’s decent compared to hotel wifi.

The best drink in the house was Fonda’s specialty- strawberry champagne (see photo). It’s a treat and an invite to go visit them again in the near future.

This is what Darwin airport needed!!
The fact it is not designated to anyone flight provider is brilliant!!! Anyone can attend.
Exceptional, friendly service and staff, they really do go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. One staffer actually told me to grab a drink and make ya self comfortable and he’ll make my pizza for me even though it was self serve Buffett. The price is perfect for all packages, of course we went the top package for drinks and food, and most certainly value for money! I was stuffed by the time I got on the plane and in food coma. Atmosphere, furniture, all good to go and comfortable, charging stations on chairs, PlayStations for kids, well spaced out for size of place.
I’m exited for the next flight just to visit their for 2 hours!

Really loved the service in the Catalina lounge. We were travelling with our two young kids and the lovely Fonda at the bar was very helpful. She did everything to make it as much of a relxing moment for us as she could, even locked the doors as my 2 year old son was constantly trying to run away :)
Nice prosecco, nice peaceful music. Overall a nice stop before our 4 hour trip back home!

Lounge is good but there’s not so much time to spend it as it only opens two hours before the flight. It would be better if it opens 3 hours before.

The Catalina is a lounge in the international terminal at Darwin International. It is well worth the price as there are plenty of comfortable seats, delicious food (albeit a small selection) and most importantly: an amazing and accommodating staff. Fonda was friendly, prompt, and skilled at making her coffee drinks. I forget the name of the other worker, but he sought to make our stay as comfortable as possible by asking if we needed anything and bringing us our requested items. I would definitely recommend this lounge and if I’m ever back in Darwin, I will be back!
