This is a small sand dune situated in the middle of Yulara. You walk up a red earth clearly marked path and once at the top, you can view a 360 degree view of Uluru and the entire Yulara complex. It is recommended for sunrise and sunset visits. Well worth it to see Yulara in it's entirety. It would not be recommended if it was raining as the red earth would quickly turn to red mud. You ca also walk another pathway near here across to the Outback Pioneer Hotel and surrounds.

I wandered up to the lookout which is an easy 10 min walk from most Yalara ( Uluru resort town area) to watch the sunset on two different nights. No National Park pass, no costly bus or tour charges either. I aimed to be there half an hour before sunset to catch a few shots, selfies and then sit and enjoy without the camera lens. Once the colours of the rock and the sky start to change of course a few more photos are required. Remember often the best colours in the sky can be 15 mins after the sun has set. At this time of the year once the sun goes down the temperature stops quickly so be prepared. Whilst I chose sunset you can enjoy this beautiful rock at sunrise and throughout the day. Due to the sandy path it would be difficult for wheelchair access.

A wonderful spot to take in the stunning view. The sunset was spectacular. Try to get there early. Enjoy!

This is one of two lookouts you can walk to from Ayres Rock resort (the other is Pioneer Lookout. Better still, both are free.
Having also paid almost $100 to go to see Uluru as part of Field of Light tour, can say view from here much the same, but better because its free! Also you can go/leave when you want and do not have to go in a bus. Also, I think Field of Light is actually further away from Uluru.
For close up of Uluru, you need to go into the national park. (Best tour was sunrise walking tour.)

An easy sand-trail walk from within the resort. Although the views of Uluru are distant they complement those to be had from the viewing areas within the park.

This small hill amid the resorts at Yulara did provide good but distant views of Ayers Rock at sunset and was popular with tourists. It was a short walk up a dusrty red track and to a small fairly untidy flat section at the top. Worth doing.

Only across the road from the hotel and you get this fantastic view of Uluru. A little secret that not everyone knows about.

We never got up early enough to go to the sunrise at Uluru or Kata Tjuta so it was great that this lookout was available at the resort.
We went there at sunrise and sunset and both were nice. It was really lovely to talk to the other tourists around you whilst you are waiting for the sun to go up/down and everyone is happy enough to take photos for you.
You can access it from a path outside the Outback Pioneer or from a path from the Town Centre. Can be a bit dicey going down the path at night so make sure you use either bring a small torch or use the torch on your phone.

Just a short walk to the lookout form most Yulara (Uluru) accomodation. No costly buses etc and an excellent view of the changing colours of Uluru! A few seats there too! Love it! Highly recommend! I'll attach a few of my photos from there. DSC02490.jpg DSC02491.jpg
