$39 for a backyard astronomy lesson is an outrageous rip-off. This place is one of a growing number of organisations that hide behind eco-credentials to make money. Really guys $39 to sit in a dusty back yard and be told that the Southern Cross points south and to queue up for 20 minutes to look through a tiny telescope at the sky?! If the true mission is to educate inform and celebrate nature and the planet, then $19 tops should do it. What made the experience even worse is that they ask you to go half an hour before to get you to buy over priced drinks while you wait for the show to begin. It is a pity as the NT outback star gazing experience is truly magical but don't waste your time and money on this experience- just down load an astronomy app, step outside and DIY!

We attended an astronomy night at Earth Sanctuary. We arrived early as we wanted to find it while there was still light, and we were able to get a drink from the bar while we waited for the talk to start at 7.00pm. We should have had more to eat before coming as we didn't get away until about 9.00pm and restaurants in town were mostly closed by the time we got back. We were given a great tour of the night sky and learned a lot. We will appreciate what we see even more from now on.

An incredible night under the clear as day stars with hilarious guides who are extremely knowledgable. These fellas do not miss a beat and their property is beautiful - not to mention all the work they do to educate people on sustainability and sustainable living. 100% recommend the astronomy tour if you're in the Alice Springs area or even just have a night free while passing by. It's only about 15 minutes out of town and an experience I doubt you could get many other places as the night sky truly is so bright there.

We were on a tour and came here for the evening. We were greeted by our hosts, the Falzon family, who own and operate the facility. The father and one of his sons provided a history on how the center developed and also their vision for the future. They live and work at the center with their families and pretty much live off the land. We had a wonderful dinner outside in the open air pavilion that included steak, chicken, sausage, salads and potatoes. Dessert was also very good. It was a chocolate cake with caramel sauce. They also provide vegetarian options as well. Not only did we have a great dinner, but they also provided a demonstration on bread making that was referred to as beer damper, which we tried and found to be very good. The family provided stories of the Aranda people of Central Australia and showed various constellations on the screen since the night didn’t cooperate for star gazing and then they played the Didgeridoo. We had a great time and the family is wonderful. Tip - Take fly nets and place the fly net over a wide hat so the netting has separation from your face. THE FLY’S ARE EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE AND AWFUL. Someone mentioned that Skin So Soft works and the fly’s stay away. This is not true. We also bought fly repellent and that did not work. Our tour guide, who resides in Melbourne, indicated that there is nothing that works, except the fly nets make it a bit more tolerable.
