Anzac Hill
About
Anzac Hill is the most visited landmark in Alice Springs. An ideal spot for a lookout over the town and the surrounding ranges, particularly beautiful at sunrise or sunset. The Anzac Hill memorial was unveiled on 25 April 1934 and is now dedicated to all those who have served in the defence of their country during all wars in which Australia has participated.

Great View and Anzacs Informastion Memorials
Fantastic view of Alice from Anzac Hill - was very windy when we were there but still amazing. The history of Australias military including Anzacs was great. Thought the display driving up and down the hill was very well done:)

    Excellent views
Narrow road up to lookout, bigger parking area for vans in second parking area. Short walk by stairs or road up to lookout. Fantastic views over Alice Springs. Informative signage and lovely display. We also came back in the evening to witness a stunning sunset.

    Great views
Great place to first and foremost pay respect for those who have served with our best in mind. A distant second reason is to come up the hill and enjoy the view. Unfortunately, I missed both the sunrise and sunset.

ANZAC Hill at Alice Springs stands high overlooking Alice Springs and is obviously an awe inspiring, respectful, and monumental spot. Crowned with the tall pillar monument in the very center of the peak of the hill and flanked by the flags of Australia, Northern Australia, and the Native People's flags, It is impressive even on the cold and chilly day that we visited. The plaza around the monument on the top of ANZAC Hill is surrounded by a tasteful railing, with plaques/placards of all of the major Australian and New Zealand armed conflict mounted on the railings.. Near to the center of Alice Springs, this is a place that must be visited when you are in Alice Springs.

Anzac Hill is a small hill close to the centre of Alice Springs that provides 360 degree views of the city and its surrounds. The views are good but by no means sensational, though I didn't come at sunset when they are supposed to be at their best. Anzac Hill is also home to the local war memorial. While there is carpark near the top of the hill (which most visitors use), the hill is just a 10 minutes walk from town and the 'Lions' Walk' offers a quick climb to the summit. All good practice if you are thinking of taking on a few trails while you're in Central Australia.

The views from the hill are spectacular. Not only do you see the town but also the MacDonnell Ranges. This hill is also a war memorial dedicated to the Anzacs of World War 1. There are placards that provide additional information relative to the memorial that are interesting to read. Tip - Take fly nets and place the fly net over a wide hat so the netting has separation from your face. THE FLY’S ARE EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE AND AWFUL. Someone mentioned that Skin So Soft works and the fly’s stay away. This is not true. We also bought fly repellent and that did not work. Our tour guide, who resides in Melbourne, indicated that there is nothing that works, except the fly nets make it a bit more tolerable.

Great views of Alice Springs. We visited on sunset and enjoyed the views over the town and of the surrounding hills.
There is a war memorial acknowledging not only the original Anzacs, but those who served their country in all campaigns, including peacekeeping and aid missions.
It is a spectacular location and the Dawn Service on Anzac Day would be a moving experience.

A must see attraction situated above Alice Springs, it provides a great view of the city. It is also a place of remembrance for those who served and paid the ultimate price. Downside is that there is very little shade or seating to contemplatw.

The plaques here which have a history of all the wars where Australia have been involved are absolutely first class. I loved reading them, and spent much more time here then I expected to. I suggest allowing a good hour for this location.

ANZAC Hill is a must-see while visiting Alice Springs. All of Alice Springs can be seen from the hill (up to the MacDonnels). It is somewhat easy to reach the top, depending on one’s physical condition. There is an off road path you can hike, and a paved road that can be driven up.

Amazing! The views of Alice Springs from here is breath taking. Do only visit this place during the day though, i was told by an Alice Springs local that it can be unsafe here with local's known to throw rocks at your car. This is quiet unfortunate as the view's over Alice Springs at night would be extra special.

This bump on the edge of the CBD has a comprehensive treatment of Australia's military forces in all conflicts. A few of the story boards need maintenance, but a good display.
The view is enormous and well worth the steep climb ( on foot) or in the car. A cool breeze is often blowing.
A must see in Alice.
