I’d been wanting to visit the sanctuary for a very long time and it was the main reason for my trip to Australia. Thank goodness I managed to do this before having to cut my holiday short due to the Coronavirus crisis. Brolga is absolutely brilliant, the love he has for his animals shines brightly. I learned so much about kangaroos 🦘 from my visit. What an absolute pleasure it was to see him and have him talk to a small group of us about the work he does to rescue these kangaroos, many of which, without his intervention, would have died. We walked around the enclosure which is huge, and a real taste of the outback. He has worked so very hard for this. I would highly recommend a visit, suitable for all ages. The ground is level but obviously natural. You would need to be fairly mobile to get around. Visiting the Kangaroo Sanctuary, Alice Springs was the highlight of our brief visit to Australia. Our month long trip ended up being curtailed due to the coronavirus but luckily our planned visit to Alice was at the beginning of the trip & all was still well at that time and I'm so grateful for that. The tour was magical. When we arrived Brolga was so welcoming, obviously dedicated and very informative about the work he does in rescuing orphaned baby kangaroos who's mother's had usually been killed by vehicles on the roads of Australia. What a wonderful thing he & his helpers do... The sunset tour was everything I hoped and more. An informative chat, then wandering around the acres of secure land that the kangaroos share, and all in the early evening sun.. Chatting with Brolga about each kangaroo that we came across, and there were many, and they each had their own story. I even had chance to feed 'Ralph' his bottle of milk, a big baby that I'd been following for quite a time on the Sanctuary's facebook page, which was just wonderful. Two little babies 'Pippin & Bilbo' came two in their pillowcases in Brolga's arms. Fantastic.. Oh and a wonderful sunset too.. ❤️ Unforgettable!…
