Overview
Book ahead to experience the outback as the original Australian explorers did on this camel tour of Alice Springs. As you listen to your guide's commentary while on the back of a camel, it’s easy to imagine what it was like for settlers hundreds of years ago to travel across the Australian Red Centre. Stop for photos against the backdrop of the MacDonnell Ranges and spot wallabies and kangaroos.

We took this tour as an excursion whilst The Ghan train was in Alice Springs !!! It was fabulous, very enjoyable ride on the camels (made easy by the platform which they use for getting on to the camels !!!!) Interesting memorabilia display back at the homestead, and cooling towels and refreshments - as well as nibblies afterwards !!!!! Highly recommend !!!

We did this tour as an off-train excursion whilst on The Ghan. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - the camels were very cool and the ride through the desert was very peaceful and beautiful. Our cameleer Ben was funny and easy going. The home station display was very interesting. Highly recommend.

First time on a camel and what a way to do it than in the centre of Australia. It was so relaxing and the scenery was amazing. The camels were chilled out and it was a delightful walk. The staff were also lovely and friendly. Highly recommended.

It was a hot windy day which set the perfect scene for camel riding in the desert! Lol Our ride was at 2.30pm and we had a fabulous time riding some very placid camels. The guide was very thorough in checking everyone was having a good time. There are plenty of photo opportunities with the camels. Pixie and Saleh Mohamed certainly enjoyed some attention and a head scratch. Would definitely recommend and we loved our experience.

Thanks for your positive review highlighting our calm camels, experienced guides and great photo opportunities. The wind in September lets us know that it's bringing the warm weather in summer. Local Aboriginal people signify that time of year as a specific season, which is translated as 'the windy season'. Thanks for giving Pixie and Saleh special attention! Don't they love it.
