The area

Address
Neighborhood: The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.

Excellent little park to enjoy the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House as well as watch the ferries go by.

It’s pretty quiet these days with a lot of the city office buildings not fully operation and not many tourists, so parking is a breeze and there’s always a spot to sit.

Nice area for a picnic or walk along the foreshore. There is pretty much always a Mr Whippy van there selling ice creams, drinks and snacks.

Parking is about $8.00 for 90mins so not too bad for Sydney. Circular Quay station is approx 5-10min walk depending on how long you’ll stop to take in the Sydney harbour views.

Great little park 👍🌳

We brought tickets in advance online and spent New Years eve here, it had a very friendly atmosphere and wasn't too crowded. It felt very safe and had all the facilities and amenities you could need.
It was a great evening with only one thing spoiling it - the weather dropped really cold and was unexpected so we weren't prepared. Being right on the harbours edge meant the wind was strong there too.
The views of the fireworks were amazing!!!

Hickson Road Reserve is quite a lovely spot for .... spotting things! The views are just magnificent! The Bridge, the Opera House, the whole Harbour are all right there in front of the visitor's eyes, literally! And the city of Sydney is all around. Go for it.

If you are interested in stunning photos of the Sydney Opera House, venture over to Campbell's Wharf (at the end of Circular Quay near the Hyatt Hotel) after the sun has set. From this spot, you will have an unimpeded view of the Opera House directly over Sydney Cove. From this same spot, you can get a stunning night view of the Sydney skyline as well.

Located on the north-west corner of Circular Quay, this park offers some very good views out into Sydney Harbour. There are a few shady trees for those hot days.

I went to this place for sunrise photo shooting. It was really a perfect location for people who love sunrise in the city, what's more with the Sydney Opera House as a background. There were a few professional photographers standby for the same reason.

This small city park is set below the Harbor Bridge and at the end of the Rocks area with superb views of the harbor. A short walk from Circular Quay and the cruise ship terminal.

You could sit here all day and just watch the world go by with the most breath taking scenery. If you are on your own or a couple or a family this is a place you can go and really take in the scenery and enjoy yourself.

Prime, green location to watch the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, specially during Vivid!

It's a shame that there's no seats close to the water available. During winter this means sitting somewhere cold, if you just wanna relax for a while, and take some pictures of the Opera House.
