We visited the store and had a 7 minute presentation about goals and how they are mined. We then walked around the store and viewed their beautiful opal jewelry for sale. I ended up buying a beautiful ring that caught my eye.

The service and product choice was amazing.. I selected a ring and they held it for a month while I continued my vacation to New Zealand & the Polynesian Islands. Upon my return to Sydney I picked up my ring and they walked me through the process of claiming my tax rebate by showing me how to access the government app and providing me with all the appropriate paper work to get through the airport. After I returned home I received the appraisal certificate as promised. It was a great experience and I just love my ring!

Our sales person was knowledgeable and patient. She spent time explaining and educating us about opals and did not pressure us. She even had the ringed sized and ready within 3 hours since we were leaving Sidney later that day.

We bought a rather expensive, beautiful opal necklace at the store and Fiona told us we wouldn't have to pay duty upon entry to the US. She gave us paperwork stating that Australia and the US had an agreement and we could give it to customs. Upon return we declared the necklace and had to pay $750 in duty. The customs agent said only unset opals were duty-free. Fiona had to have known this! She was also rather rude!

I am extremely sorry and saddened to read your review. Please trust I will do everything I can to help rectify this situation and your disappointment.
I cannot understand why the Certificate of Origin I gave you was rejected by USA Customs. I have been led to believe USA has had a Free Trade Agreement with Australia (AUSFTA) since 2005. Products can be imported into the US duty-free If the customer can produce a Certificate of Origin. More information is available on the USA Customs and Border Patrol website: https://www.cbp.gov/trade/free-trade-agreements/australia
I wonder with the change of US government if this free trade agreement has changed. I will be investigating this further as I do not want to give clients the wrong information.

I purchased a ring But soon I noticed that at the point of connection gold with stone there is change in color!!
I am not sure of quality of the item. We went with a tour group 16 people. is there anyway I could discuss this.
Our visit was short and hasty! This is an expensive ring but I am not happy with my decision! I wish one could help me with this item!Please contact me before Jan/16/16. Thank you

Always wanted an Australian black opal. Came in to the store and found a ring which was a perfect fit for me. The owner came out and explained many interesting historical facts about the store and her family. I ended up getting that big ticket ring and left happy. All the staffs in the store were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They even did the sales tax return form for me automatically. Extremely glad to be wearing the ring now.

The only reason I did not give an excellent rating is that I purchased a beautiful opal there. Fiona was fabulous at helping me select it. She has promised me an appraisal of the opal which I am still waiting on 3 weeks later.

The store is gorgeous and well laid out. There is even a film with a short history and explanation of the stones which is interesting. And the staff are helpful and patient. while there is no pressure to buy, it's impossible not to. the stones are the most gorgeous you will ever see anywhere.
